Not a fabric store but I last week I ordered from Victoria Secret. I searched and searched on line for a coupon. I couldn't find one. I did find free shipping. I placed my order and logged off. I logged on to the Quilting BOard and there on the side of the page was a 20% off coupon. I called them and not only did they give me the 20% off but they added rush shipping for free. I ordered it Tuesday night and it arrived Friday morning. Great customer service. I have found that most online places have good customer service now since they do so much of their business from there.

Hancocks-Paducah is my go to fabric source followed by Fabric.com. Each has excellent service and selection. One note of caution about Hancock's website--the search function isn't as robust as it should be. Often, I'll search for the name of a fabric and it will return a message. Not Found. Then I'll search by manufacturer and there it is. So, don't stop if they come back with Not found.

They are wonderful! I was there in April when I went to the Paduach Quilt show and they literally waited on me hand and foot, and even had a couple ladies walk me around the store even to the ladies room but than again that might have had to do with the fact that I literally bought a boat load of fabric that day. They said that was the one largest single sale ever made there by an individal that day. Anyway I digress! Yes they do give wonderful customer service no matter what. It was so busy that week there and all the workers were there assisting crowd of customers and even helping them get there purchases out the door. They had as many if not more employees on the floor tending to customers as they had at the registers and they have a ton of registers. HANDS DOWN Paduach rocks!

I have had the same happen with Amazon - - it is sometimes confusing when they advertise "eligible for free shipping" - - but you have to check the box in the checkout to get it. A couple of times when I missed doing that, I contacted them and they adjusted my order by removing shipping charge and were very good about it.

I also think Hancocks of Paducah is a great shop to order from. A couple of years ago I placed a group order with my quilt buddies and got the free shipping. However, there was one batting missing. I called early the next morning to inquire about it but since it wasn't even on the invoice, I figured it was my fault or the order takers fault but did not know which. I explained that to the nice man on the phone (turns out he was one of the owners of the shop!!!) and he said they would send the missing batt out right away with no charge for shipping. You just cannot get any better customer service than that.

I have visited Hancock's of Paducah. I love their large fabric selection. The only problem is I never seem to have enough time to shop because we are always on the way to a convention. Some day I want to be able to go there and shop until I am through shopping. I haven't ordered from them online, but after all these recommendations, I will do so.
