Congratulations on your new sewing room. I agree on going vertical! I use alot of the 3 drawer with castors (on the bottom) and then stack them.

Thank you all so much for your words of encouragement! I am so over-the-top excited about this! And thank you Up North and MadQuilter for taking the time to post your photos as well! Trust me, I took in every little tiny detail of your rooms! The vertical storage will be important, I can tell, plus multiple-use items will be important. Pegboard would be good, too, painted a pretty color! Since it is an outside porch being finished off, three walls will be brick, but I guess I can use some concrete nails to put up some pegboard. Sigh ... First things first, though, which would be getting in touch with the contractor! LOL Thank you again so very much. This board is the best!

I just now reread all my replies and noted that your room is 8x7. Now I'm feeling bad for saying mine would be a small one. And the thing is, I know for sure you are a much more prolific quilter than I will ever be! So I know if you can do it in your space, I surely can do it in mine! Thanks again!

That is a lot of space believe it or not. You will have plenty of room for shelves, cabinets, and organizers. Can't wait to see the finished room!!! Congrats, and just in time for the Holidays!!!!

Make every item in your room storage if possible. I dumped the regular ironing board for a dresser that a big board fits over. An ironing board takes up a lot of space but doesn't have any storage.

Wow what great ideas. What about sunlight? Has anyone found that your fabric has faded?
