    I don't hide any purchases from my DH. I handle the money and he knows I won't spend anything we can't afford. He is very supportive of my *habit*! He has the perfect attitude, what ever makes me happy!

    I don't. Never had a need to. He drives me to LQS or other fabric stores, encourages me, helps build and create anything I need for my 2 rooms (one a sewing/fabric/books/thread/supplies/tv room, the other a cutting {10 ft cutting surface} and ironing {extra large 'big board'} room. The room holds my bolts of batting and a wooden folding clothes drying rack that I hang cut strips and fq on before cutting down for blocks (keeps me organized). He tells me to make sure I stock up before the cotton prices get any steeper. He enjoys opening the boxes in the mail too. I figure I worked hard both raising a family and in the workforce in order to purchase what I feel is necessary. My prince can be a King (most days).

    I'm a widow now but never hid anything. Show and tell was half the fun!

He even attended two lectures at this last quilt expo in Knoxville so he would know more of what I was talking about - he's a gem and after 32 years I'm not getting rid of him.
    That is so sweet about going to the lecture!! You have a great guy there!! :thumbup:

    Score another one for the princes! My husband is the best and takes joy in seeing me happy. And I take joy in seeing him happy, so it works really well.

    And I thought my husband was special! Aren't we lucky, the lucky ones of us anyway?

    My DH
    1) is an enabler/pusher when it comes to fabrics and quilting gadgets (I have to say NO often);
    2) "consults" with me when I have a conflict or problem about fabric, colors, etc. (once when I had finished a sailing ship in a storm and was disappointed that it was so "flat" he glanced at it and said "needs lightning" and it MADE the quilt!
    3) vacumns the quilt room when he thinks its gone beyond reasonable and convinces me its OK, he wasn't doing anything special anyway (implying that I am!)
    4) goes to quilt shops often with me and to shows (when they are far away or on a trip.... we stopped in Sisters, Oregon, this year to see the Gees Bend ladies and the big day on Saturday... but Sisters is only about 8 hours away!
    5) holds the rollers I use when do queen/king quilts so I can do the quilting myself;
    6) has been in from the very beginning when I decided to do a quilt for US (the first we will keep), the theme being the Sonora desert where he lived with the Tohono o'odam for a year or two and loves dearly and deserves totally.

    Nope, he's not for sale or trade. If I ever got rid of him I'd probably lose all the kids and grandkids.... so it ain't gong to happen :>)
