Thread art has some pretty colors of polyester embroidery thread in a 40 weight gold tone color. I have used it for embroidery and love it. It is strong, soft, and very reasonably priced.

Hi and welcome. I wouldn’t use metallic thread for a baby quilt. I don’t think it would hold up in the long haul. I love to hand quilt and I prefer YLI hand quilting thread. I started quilting again when my grands started arriving. I was just going to make one baby quilt for each of them...I am now quilting obsessively.lol

I agree with the posts that don't recommend using metallic threads for the baby quilt. I have hand quilted with metallic and it works okay but went a little slower because it does snag a bit. Loved the finish products but wouldn't use it for baby. Congratulations on the blessed event!
