I'm so sorry you had to have breast cancer surgery but am REALLY happy that you are "fine, fine, fine." God is good!

I have a really great friend who was diagnosed almost 4 years ago and was told she only had 3 months as the breast cancer she had was the fast growing-type (lesions are on the outside of the breast, not inside). Her children took her to Cancer Treatments of American and with special diet, food suppliments, NO white foods such as bread, potatoes, white rice, milk and sugar of any kind, she is well, appears to be cancer free and is feeling great. What a wonderful outcome, huh!

Will keep you in our prayers.

Thank you so much. That is so very awesome that your friend made it. Goes to show there are miracles. Gods maricles! I too eat no white: bread, potatoes, sugar, pasta, flour, rice and the list goes on and on....... But I am feeling better then ever. I eat no red meat (have not ate red meat for years), only free range poultry and fish. Total change of diet. Now if only the pounds would leave! I also at the same time of the breast surgery had cancer removed from my shoulder. Great Dr. but she was suprised with the arm. She knew she had to remove a cancer but original diagnose was Basal Cell and my family doctor did not want to try and remove it because it appeared to be deeper then normal Basal Cell. Well my surgeon said suprise, suprise, it had deep roots with pylops. But I got early diagnosed, so again I am fine fine fine, and again thanks for caring.

Yes, it sounds like you are eating the same diet foods that my friend did. My friend lost her husband and was diagnosed the same week. My DH and I decided we'd do the cooking for her while she went through all the 1/2 doses of chemo, radiation, breast surgery, etc. as her own children live on the East coast, and Florida. We did this diet cooking for 7 months and didn't seem any the worse for wear. What I was amazed to find out while cooking for my friend is that CANCER LOVES SUGAR as much as I love sugar and sugar "FEEDS" the cancer. That part of the diet was realllllllllllly hard on me. That and no potatoes or bread! Those are my comforts  :? :x :( Stay well!

Mine's done!! The fabric marker I had was way too fine to work, so I bought others today at Wal-Mart--and it was much better. I even found a blue one!! :D

This was fun to make. Now I need her address.

I don't know Sharon, but she sounds like a most wonderful person.

PS--the picture doesn't do it justice at all--the dark blue has tiny precious rosebuds.

I finished my block but since I don't have a digital camera, I will post it when I finish my roll of film.
Thanks again Wendy for getting this started. Not only a good and thoughtful gift for Sharon and Roy, it gave me a chance to do a block I had never done before.
    Thanks again

I too hope you can get enough blocks. If we make more then one should we sign just the one or both? And Hi everyone, hope you all had wonderful holidays!
    Here's my thoughts on that:

I think if anyone is making two blocks (cause we need MORE!!!) and you simply signed the first block, you could right a simple message, a quote, bible verse etc on the second. Or leave it blank if you wish.

Thanks to all who have already contributed! Keep them coming (to Sharon and Roy.)

Okay... I ran into a problem.. I have not been back to this thread since the beginning.. It said blue and white blocks.. I did not have the white so my block is in blue.. I have seen how everyone has signed them but I do not think I should.. I was just going to leave it blank.. Do you think this one is okay to send or should I get some white and make another?

How about if you get some white and make a second block to sign and send along with this one?

Dawn, yeah that's a good idea to make another block. Some of us are making two anyway to be sure she is going to have enough to make a bed size quilt. But your block is pretty!

Loretta, I believe Wendy is handling that, but if I recall somewhere earlier in this post a couple of days ago there were only 28 blocks. So definitly need more. But again Wendy will have to keep us updated I think. Right Wendy :?:

Okay - here is the total so far, based on my PMs and the people who have said yes on this post but have not PMd me yet:

38! We are getting closer! I only know of 3 people who said they were making 2, and those have been counted!

I have to say it has been a good turnout so far!! If you liked this block a lot, and have the time, send another one to Sharon! You can leave it blank for her to fill in or embroider on.

I will keep you updated. My head is swimming with names right now from counting!

All the Blocks are looking lovely and it is a fine way to show Sharon that we care and are thinking about her and done in a way that the overseas people like myself could be involved in too, a great idea. Here is mine, will be mailing today, but might take a couple of weeks to get there.

Your block is JUST GREAT! I don't think you need to make another one with white...You have some light blue in your block IF YOU CHOSE to write you name or something that would be fine but if you didn't, that's fine too. Send the block, Sharon and Roy will love it and they will appreciate your effort.

    Diamonds,
I agree with Feathers. Your block is great. If you want to sign it, you could do it in the light blue area. All of the blocks are different in some way. Yours fits right in! :D
