The only thing I don't like so much is the ironing of meters of fabric. I love to pick out the quilting patterns, the marking and of course I love most the hand quilting! :-)

I enjoy the whole process except for the basting of the quilt sandwich. Occasionally I will pay a longarm quilter to baste a large quilt for me that I want to hand quilt. Worth every penny!

 I too learned the ladder stitch on this board. Used it to finish binding a whole cloth queen size quilt yesterday. Washed it and slept under it last nite. Does this make it a "used" quilt?

I guess I'd say the sandwiching also, although I really don't mind it too much.

I do find that I kind of "fear" certain steps - like the acdtual quilting - but once I get started (every time!) I realize it's actually fun and I shouldn't be so hesitant. I love piecing, and I love doing the binding. My goal for this year is to practice a lot and get better at quilting so I can really look forward to that too and not be so gun-shy.

Right now, I hate squaring up blocks! I'm working on a quilt that i don't particularly like (someone else picked it out) and I have a gazillion to try to square up into 8" blocks!

I hate cutting. Once a quilt is cut out, i feel as if i have a new lease on life. I pretty much love everything else. My favorite? Probably watching the reaction of someone receiving one of my quilts.

I like everything about quilting except for sewing on plain (as opposed to pieced) borders. I don't know why I dislike this part, maybe it's tedious. Everything else provides it's own type of enjoyment for me. My very favorite part is piecing the blocks.

I love new techniques and tools that make difficult blocks easy! I love piecing and seeing the block blossom. I'm not big on quilting. I zip to the pillow case method using polar fleece as the backing.

A little off topic I once tried to sew on a treadle machine. It would have been funny if I wasnt trying to make kitchen curtens that I needed. I think I would have enjoyed sewing with this machine if I knew how to sew with it. Can you please send me a personal tute on how to do it?
