Oh, I think this is lovely as it is!! I would not change the bluegreen at all, but maybe ScubaK has a point.

Once you put the blocks together it looked fine. The problem ( if this is indeed a problem ), the outside purple petal and the green background fabric have almost the same fabric colour value. It really is pretty.

I agree with leaving it as it is. Maybe use the bright green as binding or an outer border. It is beautiful now and I'm sure it will be however you chose to finish it. :)

:P I agree w/Neece I think that the problem is that the white seems to take over. When I covered the white with my hand the whole block looked different. I also like the suggestion of putting a light purple in the middle. It is a beautiful block. Is it pp? BrendaK.

Sorry it has taken so long to respond. But the block is by Carol Doak it is a one of her member celebration blocks. Thank you all for your input. I am still trying to figure out what I am going to do. I think that I am going to stay with it the way it is right now but who know when I get back to it after this weekend. (putting it to the side while I work on quilting another quilt for my dd getting ready to enter it in an online quilt contest)

I think your blocks are perfect in color and in setting. You have blue in the fairy, so blue in the green background works. There's also blue in the lighter purple batik. For the center I would use the dark purple; it balances well with the brighter green strip and brings the whole block together.

I LIKE the blue-ish. I'd change the bright green, if you were going to change one. But it looks fine the way it is.

I like it with the blue. For me the bright green is throwing it off. Just my opinoin though.

To many suggestions tend to confuse, but I wonder what it would look like with a dark purple center. Indulge me and lay a purple piece in the center of the completed block and post another picture. Your choice of batiks is yummy.

I wouldn't change a thing...I think you need the colors as they are to compliment the colors on the fairy fabric, and the dark purple makes it pop. Just beautiful!

Are you thinking it might need a little more contrast? Be interesting to see how it would look but I do like it like this too..

I love this block pattern. I love the back ground. If I was going to change something it would be the light green. I think I would go Darker but I really depends on what the last fabric will be.
But I love your block and all the fabrics.

If I were to change it, I'd change it to the bright green. But then you'd lose the pattern of the blues.

My opinion is to leave it. I'd vote for the pattern over the color in this case.

I agree, why change something that is already beautiful. Don't second guess yourself....remember the old adage....why fix something that isn't broke!
