I tend to make scallops with slight curves instead of dips in between. much easier to bind that way.

I don't know as I would do a scalloped binding on this quilt. This quilt is beautiful as it stands. Of course I do not have your vision of the finished quilt. I can't wait to see it finished.

First of all-your quilt is very pretty and colorful. I have done a bias binding on a double wedding ring quilt and it took me forever it felt like. I especially like your border the way it is but if you have already got the EB tool to do a scalloped edge then go for it. That may be a challenge that you would like to try. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress and would love to see pictures.

To me, this geometric design doesn't say "scalloped binding". Your bias binding that you have will work nicely for traditional (straight edge) binding, too. When I did a scalloped border/binding I used Eleanor's ruler and instructions and it worked out nicely, especially for a first attempt. It seems that for beginning, a shallow scallop works best. The quilt I used the scallops on was a very soft, feminine quilt for my DD. I have also done the scalloped or curved corners. Those are very simple and still need bias binding. Let us know what you decide!

Love your quilt ! If I hated the job of binding, I would never attempt scallops. Never. Ever.

I agree with those that think the straight edges look great on this quilt.

I agree with the others. The design doesn’t lend itself to scallops. It’s a truly awesome quilt btw!

I think that scalloped edges or rounded corners would both look out of place with this angular design. Your quilt is gorgeous the way it is with straight edges and corners.
