I have three of them and yes they are worth the money but if you watch Joann Fabrics they will run them 50% off or when they are regular price use a 50% coupon. thats how I bought all three of mine.

I LOVE all my OTT lites! When I purchased my first one (years ago) they had a special bulb that doesn't have the regular base (it plugs in). It's a floor lamp. I have two Ott Lights in my Keeping Room for reading, working on my laptop, etc. They look like very nice. They look like library lights - brass. I have one floor lamp in my sewing room.

You are so right about using cheaper bulbs. I use the Bright Light curly florescent bulbs that you can find at places like Lowes or Home Depot.

I have a small table ott light that I use behind my sewing machine. I can place it where I want for where I want extra lighting. I really like it. I also have a different type beside my bed for reading in bed. It give me the light to read by without disturbing my husband.

I have a floor lamp Ottlite in my sewing room and I really like it. I bought a full spectrum floor lamp from Menards and I really like that too. It's not quite as large as the ott light but reg. Price is only$29! I got mine for $20. I also have the Ott light book light which I really love.

Yes I have one. It has a push floor switch which I love.
Also a big clip to hold the pattern/picture of current project and a magnifer. I could not sew at night without it. Got mine at Hobby Lobby with a 40% coupon. Have had it 3 years and have not had to change bulb yet. And it is on rollers. Great to move around.
