OHhh Mtn!! that's beautiful!!!

love it~!

Thank you:) after I got all of this put together, I walked back around and found the first one I had chosen and ALMOST started over... I'll keep that one in mind for another. It was peachy colored roses on a black background. Not sure what it is up with the black. I'm doing Amish style colors for the bom with my local quilt guild, solids with black borders. I love the contrast with bright colors.

These are just my colors there, LOVE them. I think all of your color play nicely together, and really should look pretty any way you put it, the one thing is for me, I tend to think of inner borders as being the dark, bold color, so I may choose the red one for that and save the white for one of the accents. But this is just my imagination, of course, I got now clue how the pattern is going to look like, even though Missy thinks that I read her mind,

Tinabodina 12-15-2010 06:10 AM

I'm interested! First time ever. I'll PM you.

candi 12-15-2010 06:11 AM

I am still need to get more of my background fabric, I had a bit but needed more for for the full size> luckily they had more and hopefully I'll get it today or tomorrow. I'll show pics then.

Short an Sweet 12-15-2010 06:12 AM

actually thats the way I originally wanted it too but then I looked at the fabric requirements and I only have 2 fat qtrs of the red : ( , lol and it requires 3/4 yard for the inner border, When this quilt is done, it is going to be one BRIGHT guest bedroom

Ladies this is so exciting. I have hit my boxes and found an imported piece of decorative bug material and then the rest of the coloured material is our local South African material and it goes so well. I cannot wait to see how it turns out.
Could you Mysik and Candi please give me some advise onto which material should be which colour block. Focus is of course the bugs, background i was thinking the dark pink/purple colour, then further i am stuck

I have not found the cutting instructions for the strips. This we are getting later?

Thanks again Mysik for opening this site for everyone to make the mystery quilt from your own design. ;)

I live in South Africa and I would love to be part of this mystery.
Ciao and thanks in advance...

Hi Cuddly quilter. finally found this thread... I sent my details to the board instead of sending PM to mysikanne!!!!
Love your fabrics... I have not even thought about the colours and what I want as I have not been receiving any messages lately. Must sort our my profile again.
So glad you like this site... It is great. I have made a lot of friends via the board.
ciao ciao

Ok Cuddle, here we go.. ready?
Focus- of course the buggy fabric
Color1- variegated stripey
Color2-Green
Color 3-off white/light grey (it's kind of hard to tell which it is..lol)
Color4- medium pink
inner border- rose pink
accent-yellow
2nd accent- pale yellow
Background -dark pink

I have not found the cutting instructions for the strips. This we are getting later?
Right now it's on the figuring part, I made a few math mistakes. I added the chart for the cut list so it could be easier for us to figure what is what... it's an addition to my original pattern, so I don't have all the kinks worked out on that yet.

Thanks again Mysik for opening this site for everyone to make the mystery quilt from your own design. ;)

Everyone is welcome! I wanted to do something fun and well here we are!! Thank*you all* for joining and being patient..

Hi! I love your choice colors. The white flowers almost look real. And I love the red, it matches the color of the center of the flowers. Chris

http://www.shweshwe.net/products2.as...le=&frm_range=
They bring out a new range of designs yearly or every second year. The fabrics i am using are from the Radiant Sunshine and Fudge range. They are the new patterns. STUNNING

PLEASE ALL FEEL FREE TO HAVE A LOOK. Thanks for showing interest and good luck everyone with your mystery quilt. ;)

Cuddly Quilter 12-15-2010 10:18 PM

Missy thank you very much for the advise.

Material is all washed ironed and sitting on the table ready for stage 2 after Christmas. Gives me a chance to finish my pinwheel love blanket for myself before we begin.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE ♥

dutchie 12-15-2010 10:59 PM

All I can say is WOW! I'm an instant fan of AMAFU fabrics. Such rich, vibrant color!

If anyone needs me, I'll be at the airport trying to finagle a free ride to South Africa!

Thank you, Cuddly, for the lovely box of eye candy!

Missy hubby and i are arguing about the pinks. I have retaken the photo and put ABCD on the pinks, could you please let me know which letter is which Colour No. Sorry to do this to you. I have put the material in the order I THINK YOU MEANT. I should have done the alphabet in the beginning. Sorry to waste your precious time. Really do appreciate the extra mile you are going to US ALL.

I tried to fit into a friends suitcase going to Aussie these hols, but her little girls would not let me even try 8-)
Thanks for the wonderful comments - as i said, i just love them. Have 2 boxes filled with the different sets. So handy and very helpful in the colour kits.

No problem! I don't mind. LOL too funny I can 'see' you bickering lovingly about what I meant. :) So to end the argument...C is the one I thought for the Background, and D is what I thought for the inner border. You have 10 fabrics and we need 9.. so the really pale light pink(B) is nice, but I think you may be happier with the 'bolder' colors. just my opinion. Take care and have a great day!

OK, it looks like you have your focus and then 7 fabrics, right? You need one more for a total of 9. Is the background for the focus black? Perhaps you can use black for the inner border or one of the accents?

Hi cuddly, I am fortunate enough to be able to buy the Amafu from the Bernina dealers about 10 Km from me... They have a wonderful range...
When I could not find the colour I wanted I used to tie and dye my fabrics.... I made some wonderful quilt tops with my own dyed fabric. (this was when I was very artistic and creative!!!!)
This mystery is getting to be soooo exciting... but shall only be able to go and buy after Christmas as I have other things I want to finish before I get involved with something else...
ciao
