What is a dittie bag?

PiecesinMn 12-27-2010 02:38 PM

I think you would be in copyright violation if you share anything in the printed pattern. You could share the pattern name information so that people could go and purchase their own pattern copy. There are patterns available for free on line that we all could use and therefore avoid any potential problems.

This sounds like fun. Count me in.

grandme26 12-27-2010 03:29 PM

I had big dreams this year to give out lots of quilted gifts. Good thought but none completed. I am about finished with a quilt for my granddaughter. It will end up being a late gift this year. I am in. Have lots of ideas if I can find them now.

grammyjo 12-27-2010 03:32 PM

When I woke up in the middle of the night, I had this same idea. Tackling 1 Christmas project a month is very doable. Thanks for going forward with this. Count me in. Also I love the 5 baskets idea. Going to hunt some up right now.

golfer 12-27-2010 03:54 PM

I just got material from Joann's with 70% off and I have starting making a cone tree and I hope to make table octagon runners. So I may join you.

Happy New Year

I was told that if you have a JoAnn's craft store near you all the Christmas fabric is 70% off..... :D

meetoo82 12-27-2010 04:18 PM

Even tho I have "leftovers" 70% off really sounds like a good deal.

Aunt Zaz 12-27-2010 04:37 PM

sounds like a great idea. I have stash to bust.

GagaSmith 12-27-2010 04:37 PM

I will be making two Christmas sampler quilts--one for my son's family and one for my daughter's so I will be working on blocks all year long. I hope you will keep me motivated!

kasapa 12-27-2010 04:38 PM

I want to join. When are we starting and what will it be?

Alondra 12-27-2010 04:41 PM

What a terrific idea. I've got enough fabric here, I just need a little discipline and guidance, and a good swift kick in the backside, to get myself going.

crewsemj 12-27-2010 04:41 PM

I hope this will give me ideas of what I can make, that is what I have a hard time with. Yes, I'm in!!!

sosewcrazy 12-27-2010 04:43 PM

Great idea. I'll join in as soon as I get Christmas 2010 finished LOL!

ga447 12-27-2010 04:46 PM

Wow, that is great you did dittie bags. What is that? I love christmas fabric, I used quite a bit of it for Christmas. My favorite was fabric with owls, holiday fabric.

tapngram 12-27-2010 04:53 PM

I am all for it. I just finished making 6 wall hangings for my children and had to really go to get them done. I am new on here also.

I'll join in with this...I have so many 'projects' - both started and 'in my mind' that I could be kept busy for quite a few months!

Hi Gals...I'm new as well. What is a dittie bag?

TN Donna 12-27-2010 05:07 PM

I would but I have very little Christmas fabric. I do hawever plan to do quilts for my entire count of kids and grandkies this year; that will be a total of 7 if I just do one for the couples or 9 if I do the husbands a seperate one. I am also doing the BOM on houses and the one on stars. That will be two of the total.

cindygale 12-27-2010 05:23 PM

you can count me in. i have alot of Christmas fabric and would like to use it up. i need to use up my fabric and then i will feel better. i just have so much fabric and this next year am going to stash bust and use up as much as i can...i look around and see others who haven't got much so plan on using what i have. plus give to some of those who don't have much...

I would love to BUT!!! I signed up for the 9 patch a day from June 15-Aug. 31 and wasn't even able to do that as never can
sew when DH is around which is pretty much all the time and don't have room of my own-can't go to the bedroom cuz then
I have to lock up the dogs cuz heaven forbid if he could watch them!! So I guess if I can manage it I will but won't sign up for it.

Alondra 12-27-2010 05:37 PM

My 2 daughters have requested placemats and table runners. Would it be too overwhelming to make a set for each month, or do you think that's too ambitious for one year? I still need to make quilts for my 3 grandchildren.

Flo Pierce 12-27-2010 05:38 PM

Sounds like a fun idea. I think Walmart will be having a sale
soon on their Christmas fabric. LETS GO

Count me in on the project. Just let me know what to do

Flo in NNY

BettyB 12-27-2010 05:46 PM

I want to get in on this too. I have told myself over and over to start early hmmm

BoJo 12-27-2010 05:56 PM

I would like to participate. Are we all going to work on the same project? Will there be lots of suggestions and patterns? Sounds like a great idea.

nelsongrc 12-27-2010 06:02 PM

Oh My - I so IN for this - I love Christmas but can't do my christmas sewing too close to it 'cause of all the other christmas stuff. . . Group projects and individual projects sounds like it would suit everyone....

GGinMcKinney 12-27-2010 06:03 PM

Some group I was in always worked on their own Christmas project on the 25th of each month. I couldn't participate that year, but seemed like a good idea. We go camping monthly and the 25th is busy with getting ready for the trip each month so I cannot participate, but I think it is a great idea.

som 12-27-2010 06:04 PM

COUNT ME IN ,WHEN DO WE START

Annz 12-27-2010 06:06 PM

sounds like a good plan.

maidmirian 12-27-2010 06:15 PM

Me too...... I want in.

ragqueen03 12-27-2010 06:17 PM

i want in on this. i would love to get a head start for next christmas. i made 5 rag quilts betwen december 6 and christmas and am working on number 6 for my mother in law. i am a little burnt out on them - need something else to motivate me.

penski 12-27-2010 06:31 PM

i am going to make a point of buying Christmas fabric now for next year !!!

nanakathy 12-27-2010 06:32 PM

This is a great idea-I just bought a calendar today to list out all the projects I want to get done next year-I have a ton of Christmas fabric-worked til last June, so other years I just bought fabric at the after Christmas sales--now I must be accountable for all that fabric....LOL

coletteelizabeth 12-27-2010 06:39 PM

Yes please what a great idea. count me in

mistycatbaby 12-27-2010 07:28 PM
