I'm behind too. Don't know exactly how many I have done, need to go count them! I *think*, as of today, we should have 56. Please correct me if the count is wrong.

Okay, I'm waaay behind. I got terribly side-tracked by another project or two and school starting up again. Don't know if I'll ever be able to catch up. Barely finding sewing time now that school has begun again...oh well, one of these days. 8-)

Melinda in Tulsa 08-09-2010 12:51 PM

Nobody is going to give you 30 lashes with a wet noodle if you don't get caught up! I've been working on other projects too but I think if we just keep on doing them when/as we can, as extra blocks, we will have lots more projects to work on as we need them..

Bet I'm further behind than you are - Blame my behindness on getting addicted to making CRUMB blocks - I've made over 80 and NEED TO STOP!

I think I'll SET UP my sewing area for making the 9 patches and see where that leads me - in the early early morning hours and late late late hours of the days!

That makes 79 nine patch blocks complete with more on the table.

StitchinJoy 08-10-2010 04:15 AM

Love seeing all the 9patches! I am sewing snowballs along with my 9patches so when I am finished, I will hopefully have enough blocks for a queen quilt!

ScrapQuilter 08-10-2010 06:18 AM

Glad to see so many posting pictures of your 9 patches.
LOOOOOOOOOOKING GOOOOOD

Happy quilting every one...........

I am sorry to say I haven't made any but I had some problems around here. I love looking at everybody's you all are doing so good.

Blue Bell 08-10-2010 05:21 PM

To Everyone making the nine patches,
I just found this thread and have been looking at all the beautiful work you all have been doing. Had I known about this project, it would have been fun working along with all of you.

ScrapQuilter 08-10-2010 10:05 PM

Blue Bell

Come on - jump in there is still time......... come join the fun. We are all working at a dif pace so if you look at it that way - you are just a little behind and can catch up.................

mrspete 08-11-2010 07:35 AM

Ohhhh shiver! I have a short in my sewing machine cord. I feel like Chicken Little !

ScrapQuilter 08-11-2010 09:10 AM

You poor thing............... do get it replaced............. want you around for a looooong looooooong time..... don't take any chances.

I too am chicken little when it comes to anything electrical.
Turned on a lamp one time and the bulb exploded... Just hate things like that.

Baba71 08-14-2010 09:55 AM

MrsPete, I would be lost without my sewing machine. I hope yu have a second one to use until you can get a new cord. HURRY! HURRY! HURRY to the store and get a new one.

Melinda in Tulsa 08-14-2010 11:20 AM

When is the 9 patch project *officially* over? and how many blocks to we need to finish? I know I'm behind and seriously doubt that I will catch up in time, but I'm going to continue working on it anyway. I just love doing these and have so many idea's for Christmas projects to make from them.

ScrapQuilter 08-14-2010 11:31 AM

There are no 9 patch police so you go for it girl........ do what you can when you can and have fun with them.
Will be looking for pictures of all those Christmas projects.

Happy Quilting to each and all........... ScrapQuilter

mrspete 08-14-2010 02:32 PM

I have my little portable machine going. I do not like electric stuff, either. Well I took 27 of the nine patches to the crafters at church. We are doing some crafts for a Christmas trip for seniors and we needed another project really quickly. But I haven't actually made anymore. I have several cut out and another swap to do and I'm cutting on that now. Tomorrow is our last day, isn't it? So, it is actuallyt 73 completed at this time. It has been fun and I will continue, but only because I have these projects lined up. I love this. More fun to have folks who share and understand what you are doing.

Blessings,
Ruth

As I posted my pics on p.37, I have 111 blocks made(I know I went over, but I was working on a quilt for my older brother) all sewn together and now working on the borders. It may take me several more days to do this. I'll be busy at the drs. tomorrow and going to a flea market & lunch with one of my neighbors on Thurs. so it'll be Fri. before I get to work on this anymore. I have to set down and figure out the placement for my borders, sew them on and then post a new pic. That's about as far as I'll get for a while because I want to hand quilt this and won't have the extra time to get to it for awhile(other projects in front of this one).

I still have some catching up to do since I won't count the ones I made twice. I will have to count mine. I took a little detour into Bow Tucks land and have 2 more of those to finish up. It's good to be back!

Melinda in Tulsa 08-23-2010 12:29 PM

Okay, I admit it, I'm WAY behind. I only have 44 made, but have gotten sidetracked on another project. BUT...I'm still planning on continuing on as I have several projects in mind for my 9 patches. So this has been good for me and even after our time frame ends, I'm going to keep making 9 patches!

mrspete 08-23-2010 03:01 PM

WOW, Leaha, that is an eye knocker. Soooo beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Blessings,
Ruth

Pzazz 08-23-2010 03:29 PM

hahaha! That's because we spend more time here then in our sewing room sewing!!!!!

brushandthimble 08-24-2010 03:24 AM

Have mine pulled out (for the last 3 weeks LOL), just need to get back to them:)

Pzazz 08-24-2010 06:29 AM

I counted mine last night. I am now re-vamping the borders on this lap quilt. The body only has 75...so I will be making corner blocks. :D Good thing we have no quilt police to tell me I can't do that. LOL

Have a great day everyone.

Patti

Yes, yes, that is sooooo true!! Also can't sew when DH is around as it "bothers" him when he is on computer. Have no place private to sew!

Melinda in Tulsa 08-24-2010 07:24 AM

I feel for those who don't have their own sewing area. I've been really lucky that most of my life I've had a spare room to sew in. In my last home, I used the formal living room/dining room to sew in. It was huge! Now I have the largest bedroom (upstairs) to sew in. I would have liked to have the den, but DH claimed it for his man cave.

My oldest daughter got a sewing machine for Christmas last year from her SO. She has taken a spare bedroom and made it her sewing area. (no kids)

One day, we shall all be empty nesters and have our very own sewing space! (I love being an empty nester!)
