Count me in please! About 3-4 months ago, I started some 9 patches with 1 1/2" squares. I didn't get very far as other projects took priority, so this will get me back to my mini squares. I have a few put together, randomly, alternating with WOW squares.

Thanks for organizing this, Swan Song. And I hope you are feeling better real soon.

Swan Song, I'm hoping you feel better very soon. :(

amy WI 06-11-2010 06:17 PM

Swan Song I hope you feel better soon. I have decided to use 2 1/2 inch squares. I am going to cut them this weekend and put them in a zipper bag and shake them up. I will just grab nine squares a day and sew them together. It's going to be very scrappy and I can't wait! Thank you for organizing this and answering all of our questions. :)

Pzazz 06-11-2010 06:42 PM

I counted how many squares I have already put together. With the number I will add from doing this challenge, I should end up with approx 100 squares. About another 50 more than that and I should have enough to finish this lap quilt. :D

Have fun, everyone!!!

***You're welcome***

letsquilt 06-13-2010 06:08 PM

I,m in 9 patch is not my best but this will give me a lot of practice.

Pzazz 06-13-2010 06:22 PM

Since we arent' really starting the blocks until the 15th, I went thru' my tin of 1 1/2" squares and picked out all the odd ones...anything that doesn't have at least 4, and sewed them all together. I ended up with about 15 feet!!!! This will be border once I get all the squares done and put together.

This is going to be fun seeing what everyone does with their squares. (Is it Tuesday yet?!?!?! hehe ;) )

Hi Everyone! Sorry to be so out of pocket the past couple days. I don't know if I am better or not. I am catching up on sleep I guess.

I added letsquilt and stichinluvr. That should be everyone so far.

Remember we have a thread in the links for posting tutorials and setting suggestions that link is-

I send quilted gifts to my family in WI every year. One year I sent folded star ornaments and another all the girls got "Gracie" handbags and the guys got remote organizers. That was a huge undertaking because I have a huge family, 18 people! This year I decided on table toppers and mug cozies. I will probably work up a few 9 patches a night so I can see if the basic pattern I drew up works. Once I get the topper done I am going to do variations since I will need 9 of them (and maybe 1 for me to keep). If it works out I will share the pattern with you all. I haven't decided if I will just change the borders or also the centers. Time will tell. :-)

beckyw 06-14-2010 07:36 AM

I think this will be fun to see what everybody makes.

zjsquiltymomma 06-14-2010 08:05 AM

I can't wait to see what your table toppers and mug cozies look like. They sound really neat!

Swan Song 06-14-2010 08:10 PM

MegsAnn 06-14-2010 08:59 PM

On your mark, get set....

Pzazz 06-15-2010 04:21 AM

Woo hoo!!! Sewing!!!

DH woke me early with starting the tractor, so since I had laid out a few blocks last night, I got up and sewed until my alarm went off. We have had so much rain this spring, that we need to spend any dry days outside to do catch-up. This coming weekend is supposed to be nice, so I will do my sunny day blocks on our rainy days. :D

marymc 06-15-2010 05:43 AM

I have "shopped" my stash/scraps and I am ready to go! Why oh why does Tuesday have to be a work day? I may have to sneak out of the office early today...

aliaslaceygreen 06-15-2010 05:56 AM

I'm in! ( don't know if I am on the list yet??) I have Tuesday off. I am sewing two sizes. 5 inches, totally scrappy out of squares that I have boxes of, and 2.5 inches, out of strips of fabric that I have boxes of. So the larger blocks will much more scrappy than the smaller....
