Swan Song 06-15-2010 10:19 AM

TammyD I have added you. aliaslaceygreen you are first on the list since it goes alphabetically. Glad to see everyone organized and ready to start. I have to work Wednesday and Thursday nights. I should feel just good enough to go. So I will probably do 3 today. No I haven't started yet my kids (2 and 4 legged) have kept me busy this morning. Here' hoping for a quiet afternoon! :D

Patti--What no rain this am! Another shower went through about 30 minutes ago. When have you had time to mow the lawn? Hopefully I can squeeze in that chore tomorrow. DS and DIL took off for a week and it's me and the old man to do the milking (100 cows). Guess I had better start those 9 patches!! Gladie

Melinda in Tulsa 06-15-2010 12:41 PM

I was going to start my 9 patches after lunch, but DD and DGD came over and now I'm worn plumb out watching my 3 year old DGD run around. About to go take a nap!

Pzazz 06-15-2010 12:47 PM

oksewglad....

Before I left for a trip to BC for two weeks, we were caught up with the mowing. DH had a follow-up colonoscopy to have a polyp removed..3 days after I left. :( The morning of, he went down the basement for something before leaving the house and stepped into water....the hot water tank blew...literally. It had a big hole in the side with water gushing out!! (It was only about 36 yrs old!! LOL ) So, between recuping from his surgery, and dealing with drying up the basement and getting a new water heater in before I got home, AND the rain, I came home to a lawn that was between 9" and 2' in places. We have been getting out in between the rains as often as we can to get it caught up again. We keep about 2 acres in lawn, so it isn't a quick catch-up. This really has been a very wet spring here. Some farm fields are still like big lakes. :( A GF joked that she needed to get crop insurance for her backyard veggie garden.

If you like pot holders try backing with worn out iorning board covers. That is one of my mom's old tricks:)

Thanks GrammyP & Pam! I think I'm going to switch to this one.

Swan Song 06-17-2010 12:03 PM

I added the link to the "Links" page that we have been putting links to 9 patch tutorials, setting and project ideas on the "Group activities" page. Now you can find all that info quicker. Hope that helps our newer quilters to find that info easily and those of us with "sometimers" (like me  ) to remember where it is. :-)

Thanks to sewcrafty for suggesting it and to craftybear for putting the "Links" page up for us.

Anything else you think would help y'all just let me know. This is my first time to host something like this and I am still learning how to make this easier and more enjoyable for you. :-)

Pzazz 06-17-2010 12:13 PM

I'm in and behind already. But went to the county fair yesterday and have Bible study tonight. But I will catch up on Friday, yeah. Maybe once I get some squares cut I will hand piece on the trolley.

The more the merrier. It's easy! Now to go look at those ideas. I love 9 patch.

Oh, before I forget. Thank you Swan for being such a gracious hostess! :D
