It's not a hobby,but a part of my life
EXACTLY . . . well put. And, now that I have more time to do it makes it even more enjoyable; not "fitting" it in between housework, kids activities, kids homework, kids bath time, hubby's supper, inlaws dinners and a job. ahhh |
I've been quilting for more than 30 years. Now that I'm an empty nester, I enjoy it more than I ever did. I don't have to stop to pick up kids, drive to piano/soccer/girl guide/boy scouts/etc. etc. etc. I am enjoying learning new techniques (mainly from the quilting board) and stretching my old brain to do new things. I'm also not as picky about how my house looks so housework doesn't get in the way!

I just started my 3rd quilting year. I have learned a lot already, but I have so much more to learn. But all in all, I love it. The feel of the fabric, and escaping into my own sewing world is something I look forward to everyday.

Emerald - what a wonderful way of expressing your love of quilting. I've been quilting only a year and love it. I just don't seem to get enough time to quilt. Being retired now, one would think there is plenty of time - I wish. But enjoy it when I do quilt. wsb
