Hi q&c, well, I deliberately let the "Buxom Blonde" ICU nurse comment pass 'cause I'd have to admit that I'm auburn, not blonde, and that I'm as "buttsom" as I am buxom, if you get my drift. Hey, I'm an old lady! I'm a boomer! LOL.

But yeah, you know how nurse humor is. Actually you sound like my mom. We always have to explain dirty jokes to her. My favorite is...(OMG she's gonna kill me for putting this online, but I SWEAR it's true)....I told her a joke where the punchline was something about "tuna fish". She didn't get it. When I tried to explain that the joke is that "supposedly" it refers to "women" (I'm trying to be clean here), my mom's CLASSIC response was "Oh no! It can't! Your father HATES tunafish!" Needless to say, SHE IS NEVER GOING TO LIVE THAT ONE DOWN!

I'mmmmm telling your Moooommmm    Sounds kinda like what my mom would have said

Yeah, but we ALL know that's exactly what you mean! I have a visual. The Where's Waldo At The Beach Scene. And kwhite's fabric hidden ALL OVER! Oooh, there's one, and there's another, and OMG would you look at where that one is!

k3n 06-01-2009 03:05 AM

OK - I read it all and LMAO right onto the floor! QNC - you are a mind reader - i already thought about a stack n whack ( ) for kwhite's fabric BUT I have to ask a personal question, in the interests of design, you understand.... HOW BIG ARE THEY?

Gai - I hadn't heard the tuna fish joke in YEARS!!!! My Mum is equally naive; My father told a joke at the dinner table when I was about 15 and the punchline involved a certain number - she didn't get it, I nearly peed my pants laughing! After he explained it to her (with diagrams), I got a thick ear for knowing what it was!

k3n 06-01-2009 03:09 AM

PS

Gai - I just had to say - you are an ASSET to this board, that was ASSET!

Do you want tip to toe measurement or just the "body"?

Yeah, I could draw beards and ears on 'em. LOL!!!

OK, 'nuff fun for now. I have to go to the post office and mail some fabric. After all she really deserves it for calling me an asset. (I bribed her to say that).

Mousie 06-01-2009 06:02 AM

GAIGAI WROTE: Yeah, I could draw beards and ears on 'em. LOL!!!

Yes, I reccommend, if your gonna wear this article in public, don't leave off ears, if they're gonna be bearded. Don't want to get a citation!

cop to gaigai: howdy, ma'am, that thar hat your a waring looks kinda dirty, lak your breakin the law, think ah'm gone have to give y'all a ticket.
gaigai: nope, officer, just something I got from a friend. I made this myself. I'm a nurse-quilter, and these are pictures of equipment.
cop: well, do tell by doggies. Ma wife is a quilter, too. Well, you be on your way, ma'am, and have yoself a fine day, now.
gaigai: I sure am glad he didn't recognize the beard on here. That was a close shave! Fooled him with the big ears*, tee hee hee!

Say, isn't there a correlation between big ears and um, big fabric?

k3n 06-01-2009 07:01 AM

I thought that was feet?

K x

Ducky 06-01-2009 07:05 AM

Huh....and I thought it was big thumbs.

Tippy 06-01-2009 07:07 AM

I had heard it was noses, but a friend told me that in her um, experience big veins in the hands means big...um, you know.. yah, fabric.

k3n 06-01-2009 07:12 AM

Girls, maybe it depends on the guy who told you the theory? Whether he had big ears, thumbs, feet, nose or whatever - he probably adapted it to suit himself! LOL

K x

PS It was also a guy who said 'size doesn't matter'!

Ninnie 06-01-2009 09:46 AM

I have spent 20 minutes reading this thread and had to stop for bathroom break!

First of all that fabric is too too funny, and It being soft dearly about killed me! I love the idea of making a bikini out of it!

What can I say, except that it is nice to get back and see things are the same, such dirty minds, no wonder I fit right in!

At this point maybe you should just put it up for auction, and see who offers the most FG for it! You might just have a gold mine on your hands. And I do believe it is the nose that should be big! reference back to DH and Mortimer in chair asleep!

OMG - I feel so at home here. Waldo on the beach ....... that's why I don't go to the nudy beach. ROFL. Big ears, big feet, big hands, and shrivelled Waldos.

Don't worry about it Martina - after all it's like fishermen, it's not the size of the rod, it's how they wiggle the worm!

I do believe that's one I haven't heard before (she says as she wipes the tears out of her eyes) And I still say it ain't true. You have to have enough to wiggle!

One of my favorite authors, Linda Howard, has a book "Mr. Perfect". Four smart-ass friends sit down at happy hour and make a list of attributes of the perfect man. The book is a murder mystery romance, but it is absolutely a hoot. And I have to agree with the list. Check it out. Or if anyone wants, I'll post it.

Whatever you decide to make, you'll definitely want to accentuate this fabric in it.

mytwopals 06-01-2009 12:31 PM

You know, that fabric might look really interesting under a black light. Might bring back memories of the 60's and 70's.

Maybe it might actually look good if you work with it while smoking a joint.....Perhaps it'll bring you some good ideas.
