I'm sorry.... but I laughed so hard coke nearly came out my nose when I read this! LOL I can imagine how embarassing that would be! My worst (so far) is sewing a pile of about 30 or 40 hst, chain piecing, one after the other, the whole lot of them, then discovering the bobbin ran out halfway down the first one. |

I was moving along quite well with meandering and I heard a thunk...
looked down and saw that I had sewn through the head of the safety pin without breaking the needle! |
Gosh -- you all sound like me!! I've sewn stuff to the clothes I was wearing, got a needle stuck in my finger (I was just trying to change the darn thing), scorched a block that was being stubborn about laying flat and when I was making the HST for my blue/yellow swap -- I ran out of bobbin thread about half way through and didn't notice....Some days I should just go back to bed

When I was changing the blade on my rotary cutter, I was wiping the oil off of the blade with a paper towel and used too much pressure on it so that it slipped and sliced into the top of my thumb. I didn't think it would ever stop bleeding, after several band-aids. Who knew a major artery runs through our thumbs?

Thanks for the laughs, girls & boys.
Maybe it's a good thing I don't have enough time to sew as much as you all. And I learned a long time ago that it doesn't pay to sew when I'm getting tired....too many mistakes! |
Well apart from strip pieceing several rows when the thread had run out, my Janome machine was making a lot of rattling noises. I spent ages checking everything, even removing all the spare feet from the on board storage, no difference. I switched off and put it away Later when I returned to the machine I noticed the noise had gone. The reason, I had closed the top cover, it was the lid that was rattling!!!!

I went away for a quilt retreat with a bunch of girls in my guild and when I took my machine out of the machine bag I realized I left the plug at home. ERRRRR. So now that is the first thing I pack.
|
I've sewn the back of some of my pieces to the front. When I opened the seams I was wondering why it looked odd.
