Mine was advertised for sale in the back of a QuiltersNewsletter Mag. by a lady in Colorado In the late 1980's. I called her and she shipped it to me COD. Its a 1952, came with manual, attachments, case, bobbins, needles,I just love her and would'nt sell her for any amount! I think we payed 300.00 for her, but she is more than worth it!!

If u were closer, I would trade you. I have a singer in a cabinet and since my daughter is moving in with me, she wants to take over my basement (sad and glad at the same time) I'll have to put it on Kijiji no room for it

As I really don't need three featherweights I am hoping to trade one for a nice 201 or 301 Singer in a cabinet.

I had just started to dew and quilt last year. My fil found out that I was into sewing, and he told me that he had two old sewing machines out in his shed that had belonged to his mom and aunt. No one else in the family sews.
I went to his house and sure enough, they were both featherweights. I now have both of them running, and I named them Frances and Teeny after their previous owners. |
Mine was a gift from m mother-in-law after I had my second daughter. I went on to have two more, daughters, that is, :) and made all their clothes. Hers was a gift to her from her husband on her wedding day, August 3, 1935. I love it and two years ago was offered $1100 for it. I'd never part with it.

Do you put your bindings on with your FW and is there a walking foot for it?

I learned to sew on the FW my mother was given for her high school graduation in 1942. On the day I got my first job out of hairdressing school I went next door to the Singer store and bought a light green FW. That was in 1964. They're both happily living in my sewingroom and that's where they'll stay :-)

I purchased mine in Ebay 3 years go. She is black, a 1950's model. She came with a case and attachments and the only thing wrong with her is that she has a nick in the paint on the bed of the machine. Oh, and the cord had been taped back together that goes with the footpedal, so I turned around and purchased a foot pedal/cord on Ebay that was in perfect condition. Than recently I purchased a Singeer 301A and she looks like she just came out of the factor, she is tan and beige and beautiful, just gorgeous. I love sewing machines! lol.

I am looking for a FW I bought a1969 Kenmore Singer at Goodwill for$25 but very heavy but works like a champ the repair man said a regular work horse.

I got my Featherweight on Ebay about 6 months ago. It is in excellent condition.
