Isn't it odd that after you have purchased a new type of batting something gets posted about it and you don't know what to do because you've had it to long to return. I bought the Quilter's Dream Wool batting a few months ago on sale from Hancock's of Paducah I have the queen size and now I see this thread! I guess I have no recourse but to use it and hope for the best.

I'm in Maria's quandry-- bought a QD wool batting 2 months ago to hand quilt a quilt that I'm just now ready to baste. I sent an e-mail to QD asking if there was a way to tell if I have one of the poorly bonded batts. I really don't want to order a Hobb's wool batting because I would have to quilt every 2" instead of 8".

I received a prompt reply from Quilter's Dream. The batch in question was manufactured last summer in June and July. The vendor I used has had new shipments since then of the size in question (king size on the roll). They offered to send a new batt even though it was not the size and batch in question. Since I ordered a queen batt from this vendor, I am going to proceed and use the one I ordered. I don't want to hand quilt this bed quilt every 2 inches, which the Hobbs would require. If you have a question, I would suggest you e-mail or call.
I don't want to disparage the reputation of a good company who it appears has gone to great lengths to remedy the situation.

elizajo- Later, after posting this question, I realized I should have communicated with the company instead. I didn't mean to "spook" people or disparage the company in any way, just hoping for information from the group.

I will never buy that batting again. I used it one time and the bearding was insane. It was bad I was afraid to give the quilt as a gift.
I love Hobbs 80/20 and buy that by the roll
will never use the wool again
