You are so lucky. I am the only one in my family that sews. I did meet a wonderful group of ladies in my area through this board. We get together once a month. We are talking about doing a retreat. They are really fun to be around.

My two sisters and our mom have gone to two retreats a year for the past 10 years. One sister doesn't quilt but she loves counted cross stitch and is always happy to remind us how little she has to pack!!! It is a wonderful way to spend time with our Mom. I don't know what I would have talked about the past 30 years without quilting in my life!! Now I know how important hunting and fishing seasons are for my husband and his buddies!!

It's just me. I do it for a business. But the neighbor when she moved in liked what I was doing so much she bought the same machine I did and started quilting. It's fun to see what each does.

just me, myself and I. My family is very small, I have 2 sisters, they both live on the opposite side of the US. My mother has passed going on 7 years now. All Aunts on both sides of my family have passed. No one in my family ever quilted that I know of. When my parents had marrie many, many moons ago, I remember them having a wedding ring quilt. I was told my grandmother had made it, but, that, I do not know for sure

I'm so grateful to have my sister here in Oregon with me now. She is learning to sew and quilt, and it gives us a great opportunity to get together. She and another friend and I get together for our "SIS" (soul-ly in stitches) group. Since we share our faith as well as quilting and other needlecraft, we all feel like sisters. What a treasure!

I have a sister who quilts and one day a month she & I get together with 3 other quilters. We share lots of laughs and ideas.
