RV Quilting. Anybody do it?

We have a travel trailer permanently parked in a campground. I piece quilts outside on calm (non windy) days - under the 8' x 22' awning - on our outside dining table which sits on a multi-level deck. Our site overlooks a wooded ravine. We have 3 fountains bubbling for the critters and birds feeding at the feeders. The hummingbirds are VERY curious - especially if I'm using a red fabric - they will sometimes hover within reach. Having Kenny G cd's playing softly in the background is a perfect retirement day. 
When I get a little stiff from sewing I take a break and head to either the pool or the hot tub.

I am so thrilled to read all of this . We belong to a club with a permanent site thay said I can NOT use my sewing machine it uses too much electricity I said are you kidding as our neighbors have a tv outside no way can it use more power than that Then they have the nerve to ask me to donate a quilt I do NOT think so. All of you keep RVing and Quilting you are so lucky

I was so excited to read this post ...so many great ideas. I have a 25 ft travel trailer (one small slide out) that we use in the summer. I always take a project! I store my cutting mat and rulers flat under the mattress to keep them flat ... my machine stores under the dinette ... I have a small cutting mat/ironing pad (June Tailor I think) I use that on the cover of the stove to press blocks and a table top ironing board for bigger things ... I have a flat wall between the bathroom and bedroom that I use as a design wall ... I put up small command hooks on the wall and then put binder clips on a flannel backed table cloth for my design wall and it works perfectly. Keep the ideas coming!

i have been quilting fulltime in a 5th wheel for 5 years. I travel with 3 sewing machines, one for embroideryand one for piecing that are always set up unless we are traveling. Use a seweez table and the kitchen counter {have tons of counter space}. The featherwight i take to classes or the clubhouses. Have 8 large bins of yardage in basement. 500+ cones of thread, stabiliezers, fusibles and batting under the bed. Rulers and mats under matress. tools in storage drawers in basement. Accuiquilt under the table...dies in overheads. It can be done quite comfortably with some planning. My husband also quilts to we do not pass a quilt show or shop. Life is good in an rv

We also have an RV (motorhome 35 foot with two slides) and have decided to go full time. I am going through my stash and getting rid of and trying to figure what to keep. We have spent winters living in the RV and I did do quilting but now I have no idea what I should be keeping and taking. Have some fabric that I want to keep and have those vacuum bags for that. I hope to do hand work as I love that and will be taking a workshop from Cindy Blackberg in the fall in Tenn. That should keep me busy for a while love here stuff. when I have too much to do in the MH I take it to the clubhouse to put together. Tables are great. never sewed with the machine outside now will try that have just done hand work. Limited on what can go uder the bed as I have to share with my husband and his stuff.

We usually go out in the boonies to go camping, (my hubby is not a crowd lover), and so I would have to take my own tables and stuff, but I think we would have room. Right now, I take things I am piecing by hand, crocheting, and embroidery that I can work on at any time. The first time my mother in law went with us, she was surprised at what I had to work on, but she also knows that I like to stay busy. If I am hand quilting a quilt, and I put it in a hoop, I will usually take that with us as well.
