Hubby cut a table for me and I love it. No aching shoulders at all. There's some pictures in this link http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...on-t76568.html

Earthwalker, that's a great price anywhere! Congratulations!

Yes, mine are lowered to table height. Every machine I own has a different height of the base. So I have the tables set at different heights and spacers to adjust the height when I move from one table to another.

The embroidery machine sits on top of the table so the embroidery unit can be attached to the head. I don't really sew on this machine so for now it's OK. But I would like to sew on it, so I'm thinking of another table. Maybe I'll start checking ebay for Horn tables. $90-what a steal!

I have two set in tables. They would be fine if I didn't have to lift the machine out of the table every time the bobbin needed changing. If you have a top bobbin (whatever that's called), you'd be fine with the set in.

My Pfaff is in a Koala lite, the Brother 1500 in a Horn. Both have lifts. But since one of the cabinets is NOT against a wall, both are set up for the Pfaff, and I have shims (layers of mat board) to raise the Brother. The Pfaff, being a standard machine has a set in that fits both the Horn and Koala. The Brother has a surround.

I have a commercial table with the hole in it. The table has a "hinged" back you can put it up for more space, and I leave it up almost all of the time. It was expensive, but my back and neck are so much happier. Worth every penny. You should definitely get that hole cut out!!

My husband made me a sewing table when I first started quilting, it is large, heavy, strong. Monday I had him cut a hole in it and make a shelf, kinda like carrieg's. Wish we had done it sooner, love it. I also have a plastic insert piece so the top is solid.

Mine is set in...and my husband did it for me. I bought a mahogany executives desk at a thrift store for $75.00. It measures 60"x39", and my husband made a hanging shelf and a cut out for me, as well as he then cut a piece to fit around the machine. I have access to my free arm and everything.

I'm trying to convince df to make it so my janome is set in. So far he says no but once I get a maybe it's on. Lol
