They are wonderful. Never need all the rulers with that. I have way more rullers in cost than the cost of the Alto.

If I'd had it a long time ago I'd not had all the rulers but I do use when not at home (the Rulers)

It is a great system, and Carol has a wonderful vidio to explain all the cutting on it.

I am disabled with the use of 1 hand/arm. I have this same problem with the ruler moving. I have been trying to find a used altos quiltcut for about 6 months. Even a used one asking price is 150 plus the cost of shipping. I can't afford that. I use sand paper dots, and the film. Okay but still slips. I also use an old iron (with the cord cut off) to weigh down ruler.

Hi! I know its not very sturdy as cutting tables are but have you tried a tv table. You might have trouble where the legs are and your wheelchair. Have seen some that don't have the criss-cross leg so that the tray can be bought up to the person sitting in chair, almost looks like a hospital bedtable. That's another idea, sometimes you can find the bedtables at thrift stores. It would be alot sturdier than a tv tray!
Hope these ideas have helped and not something you've already tried. Chris

ditto what Beverly said. I've tried the plastic sheet and it helps for a while, but the sand paper dots are better.

Last week on Fons and Porter TV show, they had someone that used a piece of Glad Press & Seal..cut just smaller than the ruler, and placed on the bottom of the ruler. Haven't tried it, but it might help!!

Some of the people in my guild have used clear nail polish sprinkled with salt (before the nail polish dries) and have reported some success. I use the sandpaper dots and use them on templates, corner trimmers, etc.

I tried press & seal - didn't work very well but I broke my left wrist last summer and still can't put much pressure on it still. i'm seriously considering buying a cutting system. my ruler always slips and i've done everything everyone has suggested.
