I have the top threading needles and use them for burying threads, but once or twice, it broke the thread as I was trying to thread it. Next time that happens I'll maybe ditch that one and try another.

MavisKW ... I have had the thread break too while threading, or as I say, "snapping" the thread through the open section. However, it's not the needle, it's the operator!!! .....I finally figured it out, that it is the difference as to how I do it. How I hold the needle, and how I hold the thread as I "snap" it through. One way, and sure enough it breaks. The other ... goes right into place.
