Not ugly at all! Just needs the quilting to complete it.

I like your quilt, the border reminds me of seaweed. Maybe some quilting will tie it together nicely. Thank you for sharing.

I think it is beautiful. If you are using an LA to finish it, maybe in the open spaces, some water lilies and fish. Changes the outer border to a more lavender or gold print. Understand if $$ is a problem if so keep the borders. Because you are right, there is no such thing as an ugly quilt.

I would actually add a border of black and then on that picked up the gold in the koi.

I would change the outer border to a purple.

That border does need to be cut narrower and another border added using one of the colors from the fish panel and it will be a beauty.

Thanks for all the lovely comments. I've passed this along to a fellow bord member to do as she pleases. My intent was to add more round of fish fabrics but I just can't see it so hopefully she will make it beautiful.

Ugly is in the eye of the beholder-one person may not like it but others would-I like what you did with the koi panel and the quilting will make it work.

Love it .... really like the idea of one beautiful focus fabric, and
simple surroundings!

Since KOI are good luck fish, I don't see it as ugly. I would have put some design in the corners to have more contrast. If you don't like it, I'll take it!!!! It would be a nice wall hanging. - J
