Patrice, I just want to say "thank you"..I know the new board can be confusing but most new things are..even down to our cars, new quilts we want to make and ect..Eventually, I know that the new board will become like those special slippers that feel just right that we like to slip on and get comfortable with

I hope someone will see this and help me find a solution. The new board is very SLOW. I thought at first it was the changeover, but here is what is going on, when I finish a post on a thread, I want to use the back button to get back to the digest, rather than having to open it up from the link all over again. The problem is the message will only step back 1 time and then it has to be minimized to get back to the link which then has to be loaded all over again, the process is so slow that a lot of times all I get is smeary lines and not any thing readable, meaning a refresh, then another boot to open, it is causing me to spend way too much time trying to navigate back and forth to new items I want to read, not everthing if I just go on to the next. Also have been trying since changeover to open up the star point ad from one of the members (Rhonda?) and all I get is smeary lines no matter how long I wait. BTW my computer is newer and fast, so its not on my end here.

I think most of us like positive change--change that makes things simpler, clearer, easier to work with. People resist change that inconveniences them for the sake of change--or to create more advertising revenue--or to prove what a hotshot other people are at technology. Steve Jobs' genius was in making technology available to those of us who are not technocrats. The old board was wonderful because it was possible to scroll down through different categories and decide immediately what was of interest and what was not. The new board does not afford that option with the result that I certainly will not be spending as much time here as I have in the past--and that means one less viewer of the advertising. froggyintexas

Patrice, I too am learning my way around. Some sites have soft cream bkgrnds others very strong white. But my problem is this: when I click on the quilted paradise in mornings e-mail, it takes me to the page---but seems like page feezes, I wait a while, but it's not instatanious as old style. Also, since the new version, have been having touble w/computer pages freezing. Is it just coincidence or new style is just to large and overloads computer? Sometimes-just sometimes- I can refresh page and it works, or scroll side button like mad and same -it works. Thoughts on this matter would be appreciated.

Okay, ladies, time to pull up your big girl pants and get on with quilting! Please stop complaining about the new format. I come here to learn, have fun, not listen to rants. Yes, it's new, it's different, but it's gonna stay, so get used to it!

I am trying, but I am still not getting the update message in my email program when there are additional posts to a thread to which I am subscribed. What am I not doing correctly?

Thanks Patrice, even tho I still struggle to wade through this new forum, I have said from day one that I WILL SURVIVE! I do believe that some day soon I will actually like it again. Thank you for all the things you said to us in this post.....I for one feel much better and know that each try out here is better than the last!

Patrice .... Thank you so much for all you do to keep this board in operation ... both emotionally and technically. We DO appreciate you ..... I have read through several pages of this thread, so I know you are finally feeling the love from us. I was one of the original skeptics .... I am NOT computer savvy ... but I read your ten pages of changes and comments in your IMPORTANT MESSAGE several days ago ... but I was not completely prepared to deal with the realities of change. With the stark white of the new board, I was not able to really explore all the possibilities laid before us .... but now that you have toned down the background, it is a bit more tolerable ..... even more of a toning down would suit me better ... but I'll just have to adjust to the fact that my eyes can not take as much time one board as before. Since my time and capabilities on this computer are limited, I am sure I was not taking full advantage of the offerings on the OLD board, and even with all the "bells and whistles" on this new board, I did not see the need for change. But for all of you who make this a viable COMMUNITY OF QUILTERS, I thank you for the imput you generate. Even though I hang in "lurker mode" for the most part, as my skills and knowledge increase I HAVE tried to chime in from time to time. I hope my frustrations were taken for just that: frustrations, not complaining and whining. If that were the case, I truly apologize. .... and for those that took it for what it was worth, thank you for empathizing and helping me work myself out of that mode by offering constructive suggestions and encouragement.
Hange in there Patrice. I certainly hope to do so myself.

I know people don't like change, but for someone with ADD, this just adds to my enjoyment.
I love the new look, so professional.
You guys have done great work, I haven't found my way around everywhere, but I am enjoying what I have seen so far.
Keep up the great work!
