Too Busy? Not Busy Enough?
#43
This is just a beautiful quilt design. If I had the skill I would quilt the star patterns on a plain fabric where the braid blocks and the squares with the little bitty stars I would quilt one of the other motifs. That's just me (gosh, I wish I had the skills to do any part of that beautiful quilt). Oops, I just saw the second design and it's great. By December???? Really, this quilt looks like tons of work just doing the piecing and then factor in the quilting...I'd give her a promissory note for Christmas (basically, it says quilt is in the works and she will receive it when it's done). Love the new design.

Thanks again everyone. The majority - and my friend here - all say to get rid of the busyness in the center and place an elongated mariners compass. Hey altho this is EQ5, I still don't have it ALL figured out. I'll do it later--- now I will eat!

I'd use a full sized mariner's compass like the ones in the corners as a centerpiece. Otherwise great idea.
