If you are thinking about this machine, get it! This winter my hands ached terribly with arthritis. And that can hit as any age.

We decided to start looking for another sewing machine that would be easier on my hands. Look over and sewed on many a machine in the process. But it was the Viking Sapphire 855 that did the trick for me. Puch buttons for everything, and quilts beautifully. even has a very long surface to the right of theneedle - 10 inches!

I was able to get it on sale too. While I will not get rid of my dear old Viking #1 Plus - the workhorse that she is - this machine is like floating on a cloud while sewing lol.

THUMBS UP VIKING!!!!

I took a quilt class on a viking 870 and I really liked it. Was tempted to purchase it but didn't.

Wonder of wonders, by time all was said and dnone... sale plus Viking deal we paid $1499.00. The Vikig #1 plus, which is over 16years old, was brought (not by me lol) for $4500.00 at that time!

I bought it second hand from my sewing machine repair man, who is a Viking Dealer. Paid $2000.00 when it was 6 years old. He throw in a "oone year warranty". Have been very pleased with these machines.

I have the combo emb/sewing Viking SE can't beat their sensor foot for pivoting...
And all those built in stitches...does it's own free motion just push the start button and let it go...This is probably the reason I don't try harder to learn FM

Viking makes a super excellent machine! When you spend time going to test each major type machine, and really test them with your own fabrics, and your own way of sewing - you can find out alot.

Pfaff did vey well. "THE OTHER" major machine - sold in many quilt shops - was a bust. Really it was. It shook and rattled alot, even at medium speeds. That stunned me.

The Viking are apparently very well thought. As my husband says they are intuitively designed. Logical progrssion of thought and movement of the human has been worked into the design.

This is my 2nd, have a daughter who has a Viking about 15-18 years old, works like new. And she has really worked it hard.

We know don't we, that most of us a loyal to our machine's manufacturer LOLOL. Here can i find a VIKINF HELMET towear!!!! Just like in sports, support your team! lol

Found this interesting..I bought the Viking "Lily" 555 when it came out and hated it from day 1..I'm looking for a new machine and was afraid to look at anything Viking again..you made me think there was hope..that maybe I just got a fluke..when I took mine in for a checkup(5th time) the guy at the store said to me..nothing but trouble with these..I am being very slow and going to take a good look this time around!!
