I'm in! I need to get started on my blocks for my monthly LQS block class and on Sunday afternoon, I am taking an embroidery class at the LQS.

That trivet is cool, Rob. How does it work? Are you wrapping a strip of fabric around the clothesline before zigzagging it together?

BTW, I followed your lead and made fleece hats for the whole family for Christmas!

Sewbizgirl: Your I spy quilts are adorable. They will surly bring a smile to the kiddos who receive it.

Innov8R: You are right!! I would much rather quilt than clean.... anyday!! I usually have big plans to sew and more often than not, the day gets by me. Laundry, floors, organizing office, clean bathrooms, market, cooking, etc... Love to wake up, have coffee and start sewing..... Tomorrow, that’s my plan!!

Yes, it is Allitaire. I finished En Provence and had lofty thoughts and started Allitaire but just seemed to hit a brick wall. Now I've got On Ringo Lake going no where because of this.

Sewbizgirl...both of your quilts are wonderful and quilted perfectly on your DSM.

Rob, I really like your trivet idea. I have not done any of the clothesline projects, bowls etc...but I like the looks of them.

I finished Clue 3 yesterday afternoon, now I can print Clue 4 in good conscience. I need to finish my mug rug for the December swap so I can get it in the mail. I’ve never participated in one before but thought I would give it a whirl.

I love reading all your chitchat as you all busily sew away, ladies! You are all very productive this weekend.

I finished sewing up the third clue for the Bonnie Hunter's MQ, and I'll be pressing it here soon along with the last few of clue 2 too. Yesterday I decorated the house for Christmas, so that was fun.

I will be working on bordering 9.5 inch Churns to bring them up to 12.5 inch size. These are part of a Swap here on the QB. But, the 9.5 inch blocks are just for my quilt.

And, I need to finish a few quilted postcards.

I think that's all I'll commit to. Will see what I get done.

I love seeing and hearing what your working on.

Those are some fun I-Spy's. I'm sure they will be treasured.

Also love the Christmas Ornaments. They are beautiful!

Battle Axe, those are some beautiful colors you are working with. Neutral, slightly Masculine, rich and saturated. It is going to make a beautiful quilt.

Rob, I bet those trivets are awesome. I have a friend that crochets (100 percent cotton) and has made me several of those trivet type hot pads. And, I just love them. They wash well and wear well. I just know yours will look awesome on the table.

thanks Sewbiz- Don’t you love how fast those fleece hats work up? On the clothesline trivets- I use 100% cotton clothesline and wrap thin strings of leftover fabric around the clothesline as I go. Strings that range from 1/8” to 3/4” wide work best as anything wider can get lumpy when wrapping. And string length of at least 3” work best, though I have used shorter ones. I use a dab of glue to tac down the beginning of the string, then wrap, adding additional strings as needed until I’ve got a foot or so of the clothesline covered, then zigzag it in place.

Rob

Jmoore- After I get the Christmas presents done I plan on trying my hand at some bowls. I also recently bought a book that shows how to do more intricate pieces that are shaped like pottery and even have lids and handles attached. Don’t know that I’ll get to doing those anytime soon, the materials for these has been sitting next to the Kenmore for at least a year, maybe two— I finally got tired of moving the bundles of clothesline and shoeboxes of strings every time I needed to use the Kenmore LOL— so if that’s an indication, the new book may languish for a while before I get around to trying any of those patterns.

The trivets are fun and easy, just lots of mindless sewing.
