OMG!!! I’m doing awesome! This quilt has been to at least 2 retreats. Still have a lot of work to do on it. But I’ve been sewing up a storm. I’d like to post pictures but I am having trouble getting it small sized. Just told my husband I wasn’t cooking dinner, that we are ordering out. He’s good with that. When I started I only had 1 center petal done. Now I’m almost done with the 8. And I had 3 sets of arcs left to do. Now I only have 2. The arc I just finished had 29 pieces, each. Happy, happy, happy. And my featherweight is sewing good. Just needs a little tlc from time to time.
Hope everyone is is making lots of progress too.

Can's Gram; love the outside quilt on the house. Personal and classy.

Default Oh my gosh....

I was severely delayed getting anything accomplished today, but for good reason.

Fiancé came in late last night being incredibly secretive, wouldn't tell me where he was or what he was doing, just said that I would have to wait until morning to find out. He kept me busy the rest of the night with Halo, wouldn't answer a question, just had this incredibly goofy grin on his face.

When I woke up today, I was greeted with what you see in the pictures.

He knew I always wanted a quilt frame and that I had the goal to hand quilt at least one of the UFOs I have in my stash. It's more than likely going to be my little sister's DWR. This is a handcrafted frame, large enough for a queen-sized quilt, at least. We believe it's made of maple; the outside frames are stained but the rollers aren't. The feet can be turned inward so the frame itself can be slid behind a sofa or a chair, we intend to hang it on a wall in my sewing room.

All the pegs are solid and the brakes works very well, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, save for some wood glue that was spattered and it looks as if the rollers could use a very light sanding. Once it's put together, the thing is solid - whoever built this frame loved his quilter very, very much.

I have to admit, I cried when I saw it. It makes me wonder how many quilts were rolled on the frame, how many hours the quilter sat at that frame, lovingly stitching her quilts. Even more so, how many stitches did that frame actually see. I am so humbled when I stand next to it and touch it, I am completely beside myself that he was able to get it for me. This just became my absolute favorite quilting item I have in my possession.

And I'm crying again, lol.

The quilt frame is really neat. What a wonderful, thoughtful fiance! Looks like both are keepers.

That’s a sweet floor frame. That fiancé of yours is a definite keeper!

Well, I didn’t get any sewing done today but I was able to get more units cuts and ready for my stars. The backing fabric for Artemis’s baby quilt has been washed, ironed and is ready.

Railroadersbrat- What a wonderful fiancé you have, I bet you are excited to start on your first project.

Synch- Love your fabrics, and I definitely count cutting as quilting.

I got 5 blocks done yesterday, and the remaining black fabric for the units starched and pressed and ready to go. I was very happy when the snow blower arrived fully assembled and ready to go. I hope to get at least 5 more done today if not more.

Sunday Morning update on my progress.
A no quilting Saturday. . but after church today, it is Harriet's Journey for me. May even squeeze in one block before I leave.

1. Finish final two blocks for my Harriet's Journey quilt
2. Make remaining 5 setting blocks for HJ
3. Start assembling the blocks and adding setting triangles to HJ
4. Catch up on work tasks - online class 1 - 15 Plus Misc. Done! spent the day with the laptop on my my lap and got more than 30 pieces of student work graded in one day. Amazing. This will leave me free to quilt on Sunday!
5. 10 minute clean up of sewing room - just put things back in order from this week's work. Easy peasy clean up.
5a Watch the snow falling and the birds at the feeder. Yes, the snow did fall and it was picturesque. But, alas it is gone now, but surly it will return. Love watching the snow and the winter birds.
