I have been working on my paper piecing pineapple quilt. I got 10 blocks done and 90 to go. I am hoping to get at least three more done tomorrow.

I'm going to try to finish up a lap-sized memorial quilt I'm making for my sister, Valerie, from my mom and dad's clothes today. Just need to put the border on. The heart has mom's clothes, and the butterflies (at least, that's what they'll be once I finish embroidering the antennae on them!) are from my dad's favorite sweatshirt jacket. "Charlie" was mom & dad's nickname for Valerie. This is the last of 5 quilts I've made from mom's clothes (still smacking myself for not saving dad's clothes), and they've been difficult for me to make. Now I've just got to make one for me, but that'll have to wait, as it takes to much out of me emotionally.....

Kelly,
I don't feel you are critising at all You are right that the numbers in Fibonacci's sequence can form an ever expanding spiral and it is found in many places in nature (pine cones, pinapples, artichokes and more) and in its mathematical form it is linked to the Golden Ratio. It is interesting to use in quilting. The number are:
1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21 and are reached by addind the previous 2 numbers together. You can also do a "shortened version" which goes
1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 4, 3, 7, and so on ( 4 is reached by adding 1 and 3 in 13; 3 by adding 1 and 2 in 21 and then you can start adding the two together again 4+3=7 which is also 3+4 from 34 which is the next number after 21
Clear as mud? I'm not explaining this very well but do a search on Fibonacci and you'll be reading for hours
I did some blocks years ago based on Fibonacci's sequence which is why got to know about this. Now I see it in so many places.

Thimble Bug; never heard of chalk board fabric either but what a fun idea for table mats - built-in doodle facility, super idea.
