I have a quilt to get done for my church to auction off for their catholic school gala fund raiser. Got design done, fabric purchased and it is supposed to snow all day Sunday so I am In!

I'm finding it hard to get motivated. Been stuck at home in our Seattle area snowstorm for most of two weeks now. Actually I've been getting out here and there, got to make sure we have cat food! And one of the dogs hurt himself, strained his hind leg so he had to go to the vet yesterday. He's had that before but never so bad, so this time we got x-rays. All I can say is ouch! to the wallet and poor dog is still not using that leg. But good news is nothing obvious out of joint, broken, etc. My vet's office has a flat roof and the heavy wet snow got in. When I got there a water remediation tech was testing the moisture levels (got to keep the black mold out!), the baseboards were torn out, the dropped ceiling taken out and only 2 out of the 5 exam rooms were usable -- but they were open, bless their hearts! To make matters worse, they had just remodeled last summer.

We got our first mail delivery in a week yesterday, and this coming Monday my trash will finally be picked up. We are on a "save the planet" plan here where you get one can per house and trash is only picked up every other week

Quilting-related I am planing on cutting some white-on white out of my stash for one of my current projects. I know what blocks I'm making, but I'm not so certain on the layout. I was going to spend some time playing in Electric Quilt yesterday but spent so much time at the vet and then getting supplies that I didn't do that. Maybe I can tear myself away from this computer and go to the computer that has it (out of licenses to install it on my current rig) and that will get me motivated to work on real fabric instead of virtual fabric.

Thanks for anyone who made it through my whining... going to go play with EQ and work on some positivity.

I did "join" you last night. I drafted a couple of paper pieced patterns for future quilt projects. One is a guild challenge piece, the other for QOV. Didn't do any sewing, just the planning. I did, however, rip out a seam on one of DH's shirts. Does that count as a sewing activity?

Sunrise and Jordan. Both quilt patterns came from Quilts and More magazine fall 2016. They were both from the scrap lab challenge and didn't have pattern names.

midwife, your quilts are beautiful; your grands will cherish them! I especially love the first one, and I'm not a big fan of gray -- but it really makes your colors pop. Well done!

Ok, out of my poor poor pitiful me funk and back to the quilting.

I did play with EQ and decided on a layout (no sashing) still don't know about a border but one thing at a time! At least I know how many blocks to make and that's a start.

I've decided to go with off-whites, I have another project I want to use my white-on-whites with and since I'm submitted myself to the fabric buying moratorium, I don't have enough for both.

Trimmed down some random strips to the correct size and put the too-small ones in the crumb pile. I'll sew a few of those together but I will be spending a couple of days at my Mom's this coming week taking her to doctor appointments and such, and I think cutting down the existing random combinations will be a good thing to do at her house. Then I can see how many I've done and how many I have to go. Don't want to get too far ahead of myself.

Well, I did finish the design on one challenge quilt but can't post a pic because, well, it's a country-wide challenge. So, you'll have to trust me that I'm doing something.

Lots going on here since last checking in, hope everyone heals up quickly.
I have been out and about birding, and just home for a few hours and then out again to bird just before dusk.
I did manage to get the 2018 Row by Row for Hamel's quilt shop fused on.... not sure when I'll make the time to stitch it.

Got the house cleaned this am, and got the groceries, was able to get into the studio about 2:00. Been working on some more of the blocks for Sunflower Illusions.
