Looks like some neat projects going on. I am down to only 1 arm so won't be doing any quilting. Fell and hurt my right elbow. Don't think it is broke or fractured just hurts like heck, a good bruise. I am left-handed so am not totally handicapped. Enjoy your VQW.

Yea - lots of quilting buddies for the weekend! DH and I have no family near so are use to spending most holidays just the two of us. DH had a root canal a few days ago so he's not feeling up to much anyway.
I'm working on a "candy quilt" that is made up from the candies (2.5" squares) I received from the Birthday swap. I have another top I want to put on the LA and get quilted so I can donate it - that will be an E2E design using the computer so should go fast. Have another quilt that is going to a raffle and it still needs a label.
My DD and her SO have spent the week on the beach in FL. They are leaving this AM and she already sent pictures of approaching storms. FIL and his caregiver were loading up the motor home and heading to Texas to ride out the storm. They live in the middle of FL.

Will be checking in, too! I don't have any major projects going right now, other than slowly working out any bumps in the road for the DWR I'll be working on soon, I like to 'audition' the block using scrap material and make notes in my notebook. I'd rather work out the kinks now versus in the middle of a quilt! I ordered a sewing machine this morning that won't be here until the 3rd, was really hoping it would be here sooner, but at least it gives me time to organize everything else!

I may get some sewing in. I'm still working on my GFG. I have to do a little yard work and make a shopping trip. I have to watch Dorian to see if I need to leave my mobile home for daughters house. I'm not in the path right now, but the forecasters are all over the map (literally) when it comes to where it will end up after landfall on the east coast of Florida. Have fun everyone. I love seeing all the pictures of your projects.

I am actively joining the VQW for the first time. I've lurked a lot in the past.
This afternoon I will be meeting with our Friday quilt group at the cottage here in our 55+ community. Then, I hope to finish the binding on the Veteran's Quilt that our Cottage Quilters have made to be awarded to one of our vets at our Veteran's Day Celebration in November.
I am hoping to finish the top and sandwich a signature quilt that I am making for my mom's upcoming 90th Birthday party on October 19th.
Lastly, I hope to finish an autumn wallhanging for my front door. I've decided that I would rather have wallhangings for my door and toss the dust-collecting wreaths that I have been hanging there in the past.

Welcome previous lurkers! I'm about to get off the computer and start sewing for the day, or at least pressing those column seams I did yesterday. Weather here has been too hot but despite the forecasts for more hot we got rain yesterday. Still planning on doing most of my work in the mornings.
Armybandvet, I was a classically trained Oboist. There isn't much call in the world for people who specialize in 15th/16th century French court music, so I played all the winds except I was never very good at flute.

Just walked back from the house build site and the carpenters are doing beautiful trim work on my new home. The shiplap looks stunning and closet organizers a dream...looks like I'll be hiring them to build my sewing furniture, too. The walk-in closet for my sewing room was specifically designed for Quilting supplies/stash and quilt storage. Shelves tall enough for bolts etc. It is fantastic. Now, pulling out sewing machine and getting busy....

Working on finishing this throw quilt made out of a charm square, layer cake, and black skinny strip jelly roll. Also making 3 table runners with the leftover fabric.
