Virtual Quilting Weekend -- August 4-6, 2017

Glad for another VQW! Rob, that piece is amazing, even unfinished.
I'll be making blocks... I have Boom Swap blocks to work on (12.5") and also my Rest and Refreshing (Civil war quilt) BOW needs to be made. And I'm working through the Farmer's Wife Pony Club book, making the 8" blocks in it. Blocks, blocks, blocks....
But I love them.

I'm in. I've to finish the thread ends on a baby quilt. I cut out and started sewing blocks for a second baby quilt. Hope to get the top finished this weekend. Then I need to prep for a FMQ workshop I'm attending on Monday. Thanks for organising.

Rob, what a spectacular piece...
CAthy, love the quilt you have on your LA. What a huge endeavor to put a design in each block. Can't wait to see it finished.
I haven't had much time to sew but hope to make 71 QSTs for a QAL I followed with Sherri from A QUilting Life blog.

Love all the pictures - a good way to get motivated in the morning.
It's drizzling out here this AM - so I didn't want to walk out to the shed. I went upstairs and finally moved all the totes back into the spare bedroom. we had company the first of July, and I've had all these stacked in the sewing room since.

I also hope to get more done on this project. I'm making two tops at the same time, becuase I couldn't decide which color group I liked better. I'm down to the last paper peiced section and it's been super hard to stay motivated to get it done. I've put it aside so many times to work on other projects. I keep telling myself if I'd just do a little bit a day - it would be done . . .
Though it's a paper peiced pattern, I'm not doing it paper peiced because I only had enough paper for one, and didn't want to make copies. Doing it this way is making it even more tedious than regular paper peicing. I have used one pattern as a template for each section.

all the completed sections, plus the background and backing fabric.

Good morning all! Looks like people were very busy yesterday. I'm off to an open sew at one of the local quilt shops. Yesterday's Miniature Landscape class was very interesting. I might even try to finish it tomorrow! Will check back in tonight to see how everyone's day went

I have never participated before but, I'll take the plunge. I am prepping for our charity bee on Monday morning. We just had a seasonal fabric donation that has to be put to work right away or "rest" a year so Monday will be scary and the September meeting will be decking the halls! I will be cutting the Halloween fabric up into 4.5" X 8.5" strips and cutting a double amount of 2.5" X 8.5" strips to make 8" blocks with a "fat" rail on one side. This should maximize the fabric we were given. I so hate waste!
If that gets done, I'll be making backs and cutting binding for the 16 charity tops I put together this week before they go to the longarmer. Somewhere in there, I am taking a friend out to eat and loving on the resident grand baby!

I'm just going downstairs now. I have a quilt that needs a binding, and several tops that need to be sandwiched (hate this part) for quilting. There are other projects down there that might distract me from the sandwiching.
