Been busy today. I've had this idea for a few years to stencil with pro-chemical company paint. I've had fun making these. Will be selling them at craft fairs this fall and in my local hospital gift shop where I now am the official quilter for them.

I got a late start today and with doing laundry I wasn't as productive as I'd like to be. I did finish up 2 pair of pajama pants and sew the seam back in my scrubs that I had to rip out to get them off over my splint. I also put away some of the stuff I bought at Quilt Festival and did a bit of organizing. The Rocketeer got fired up today to sew the hems and casings on the pajamas. I'm hoping my husband decides to work tomorrow so I can work on his quilt. I will at least practice my FMQ for it.

Working the Quilt Ministry table at the church holiday bazaar: spent yesterday putting out for sale well over fifty quilts, unknown number of potholders, tea towels, over twenty quilted market bags, unknown number of machine embroidered angels/snowflakes/birds and over fifty crazy quilted heart ornaments. Presale revenue stands at $200. I expect it's going to be a long day and I better get a move on!!!

People ask me often how long it takes to make something. I never know because I do projects in batches. I first cut and stenciled all the centers, which was a lot of fun, next I heat set all of them which took me two weekends. Then I cut all the 2.5 inch strips and matched them up with the centers, evenings after supper this past week. Then I chain stitched the borders on and trimmed. Next was picking out, ironing and cutting the backings, and stitching around. I did this early mornings this week since the time change totally through my system off. This weekend was turning, pressing and stuffing (never ever have I bought a 10 lb box of pillow stuffing until this project LOL) Last night I started glueing the seams closed while I wait for the invisible thread to come in the mail.
I thought of this idea a few years ago after seeing all the stenciled wood signs on Pinterest and at our local craft fairs. Fabric being my medium, I got to thinking, to be unique, I could take the same idea of the stencils and put them on fabric. I originally was thinking wall hangings, until someone mentioned pillows.

I've got a few rows of my batik quilt done...I am sewing each row top to bottom so I'm sure the lines line up in the blocks and I'm having to be very careful of my quarter inch seam allowance. Even 1/16" out over 18 blocks can make a big difference.
Back at it!

I'm taking a break from HST's right now. I have another group ready to square up that will give me 9 blocks ready to be put together. I still have more fabric to cut and squares to get made. I am tired. I worked until after 9 pm last night so yesterday was a successful day in getting a good start on this remake of this baby quilt. The plan now is to rest a bit since this morning was very busy and I am exhausted. Even though I went out to JAF for a piece of flannel, my first real outing socially was this morning and I am loopy, This happens to me when I over do things. So now I think I need to lay down and rest for a bit then come back to the quilt.

Didn't get much done on Friday as DH and I went to check out local rec center (my job as water wellness instructor in limbo due to pool issues and we both really need to keep moving!!) and lunch, etc. Did get a table runner of a friends loaded on the long arm and finished it Sat. afternoon. Sat morning was spent with a friend at coffee shop and then home to finish the table runner and putting the rows together in this Christmas Quilt (KS Trouble Christmas fabric I bought 5-6 yrs ago that will be my DD Christmas present. Today I did the prep work on a backing for a friend's "retro TV" lap quilt (it has 1950's tv's) and then took the tv show logos that I googled last night and transferred to each of the 14 tv's--ready to quilt tomorrow.
Lots of great projects everyone is doing! Thank you RaggieMom for once again hosting VQW
