For me, it doesn't matter...can't see the walls because of the shelves. LOL The walls were white when I took the room over from a departing daughter. I never painted, just shelved the hell out of it. I guess the walls are still white . My daughter will let you know when I depart and she gets rid of all the stuff on the shelves...

I would paint the room a off white, as it makes a room seem larger.

I painted mine pale yellow instead of going with white. I really like it and it is bright and a good color to have but the final choice is yours.

I always go for the neutral color for the walls and then I can use any color wherever I want without it clashing. Usually I choose a nice Ivory of off-white.

This is exactly what I did about a month ago and I love it!

Well I am certanly not the person to ask. Everytime I pick out a color it looks good in the bucket but when it hits the walls it takes on horrible dimensions. But I do know that light colors bring in more light and you will want that to see what you are doing. And I would go with a favorite color so that your mood will be good when you walk into the room to get started on a project.

I'm wondering should it be totally white(not my first choice), or a soft beige, or yellow or what? I know it needs to be easy on the eyes and pleasant at the same time. The room has two windows in it and hardwood floors. I would really appreciate your opinions!

You know if beige makes you happy then so be it, use the colour of YOUR liking.

BTW: what is a "Tin Lizzie"?

My sewing room is light aqua. It is such a lovely and peaceful, calming color. I really need calming when I'm having a difficult day and nothing goes together right. lol

Mine is a soft blue grey, not my choice but it works. It depends on how the light hits it whether it is blue or grey.
