I have a few quilts made out of that material and I love 'em.... ;-)
I like it when quilts are made from anykind of material.... I love makin'em out of all kinds..... and I've used big poly pieces for backs of quilts and as heavy as it is you dont need to put a middle in them....

The 'usual' way this fabric was used was in big (8"-12") squares or rectangles stitched together at random for both sides of the quilt and tied at the intersections of the squares. Heavy as all get out and no need for batting.

As mentioned earlier, these wear like iron and are wonderful for outdoor use.

I would love to get my hands on some good old polyester . It makes the warmest and most durable quilts and wonderful rag rugs !

I think that stuff is priceless! If it's a good quality polyester, it would be fine for many applications, including quilting.

Make lap quilts and donate them to local nursing homes.

Many years ago my Mom made a quilt with double knit. She made it for my DH for a "camping quilt" It went camping for years. The binding is ragged, but the knit is holding up great. It was retired when DH discovered there was a motel just up the road with a hot shower and TV!

Agree with ghostrider. Give it to Good Will even if you don't take the tax deduction.

Make a rug. It will wear like iron.
