That's why I love glue basting. If you quilt on a basic small throated machine, tucks are eliminated. At least so far.

This same thing happened to me a couple of days ago. Ugh. Luckily I was able to remove the quilting, press the backing to ease it in and re-quilted. And yes I was using a walking foot. This is what I got for trying to quilt at night when I was tired. Oh well, live and learn

I know how you feel - I've done that before and worried it to death. Turns out no one else has noticed the tucks in the backing. We sometimes look too closely at our work - when we stand back later it is difficult to see where the problem is.

Add more fabric to the backing on top of the mess ups by appliqueing it then re quilting just that area. I have added different color fabric squares to my backing after the quilting. I retrace the quilting on top.

I agree with this and resemble your problem. Solution is to make sure the backing is smooth before layering. I use plastic clamps from Home Depot.

When this has happened to me I've picked out the quilting immediately around the tuck/fold, and eased the extra fabric into some new quilting (just in that section). Then wash and dry!

Yep, I agree with Candace. One of my friends say she appliques designs over hers. Some quilts have more back art than others.
