What do you do when you are NOT quilting?

I love my 10 dogs soon to be 11 do I need to say how much I love these little creatures. But I also love to walk at the park for exercise with my dear friend and catch up with her. I spend alot of time with my retired hubby he is my constant companion and doesn't mind if I sew. Lucky me

I work in my garage painting and building showcars and bikes for my customers.
If I am not doing that I am hanging out with my family and the kids friends hitting the car shows, swap meets, flea markets with them in tow. Or working out in the yard trying to keep it in check after the kids fertilize the living stew out of it for me.

I went to stateline 3 days ago and I like blackjack but let me tell you those table are rigged somehow. If I gt 20 the dealer would get 21 and it was really hard to break even. I think they shuffle a certain way they are hard up the casinos that is and they cheat to get our money. lol I know I don't go often I would feel guilty about losing the money but it was dh idea just went along.

My hobbies include, photography, painting in water colour acrylics and mixed media, gardening, sewing and making rag rugs.I love reading art history and quilting books, especially history and I love the old traditional styles in quilts. I am new to actually making quilts.
I teach art one afternoon a week to a community group and I am on the committee of our local art gallery which has a new exhibition each month, featuring artists from all over NZ.
My husband Mel and I live in the country and have two dogs, Bodger and Georgie and a cat called MaCavity. They are our kids now, since the real ones have flown the nest!!
I am so lucky as my wonderful husband loves to cook and grocery shop now he is retired, and lets me get on to do my creative stuff! We love to op shop, and scan through trade me for bargins, and visit the odd car boot sale.
Have really enjoyed being a member of this site, except when I am on here I am not doing all of the above!!!!!!

Housework, yardwork, reading, wool applique, flower gardening (weather permitting), cooking. When I need a break from all of these I like to go shopping and out to lunch.....many times by myself....I find it very relaxing. Oh, and can't forget camping when I get a chance. I am much more enthusiastic about it than hubby is.

I like to read, sketch and paint, photography, and watch movies. But since I started quilting I don't do much photography or painting. I could never stop reading that would be like not breathing. I hate housework, but I hate a messy or dirty house more so that eats up a big chunck of time ( for which I am VERY resentful) LOL

After reading all the replies, it is amazing how much all quilters have in common besides quilting. Nearly every one has some other artistic interest ( painting, photography, etc) plus almost all say reading is another one of their great pleasures. How cool is that?
