Beautiful embroidered quilt, Janet. Great idea

Edited to add - The quilt in my avatar is part piecing and part embroidery.

About 2 years ago I was searching for a new machine for piecing quilts. DH was with me, he would always go to the embroidery machines. When I finally decided on a quilt machine, he decided I needed an embroidery machine. Long story short, I bought a Janome 11000se. I just love it. 1st year I just embroidered on it. This year I am combining quilting and embroidery on it.

I use my embroidery machine almost every day. I make gifts, Christmas stocking for nursing home residents, FSL angels, quilts, and decorate clothing......I could probably go on and on .... I love using it on quilts.

Mostly I do T-shirts. For my DGDs and Breast Cancer Awareness raffles. Almost forgot labels for my quilts.
Loved looking at the pictures of all that were posted. Marvelous works!

I bought the embroidery unit when I purchased my Bernina 440, about 4 years ago. I have hardly used the embroidery! I thought for a while that I would use it for quilt labels, and I have done that a little bit, but not enough to justify buying it. At this point I've been thinking about selling it. It works great, but I'm just not into embroidery.

I have a Melco. I use it often, quilt blocks, labels, pot holder, quilting, t-shirts, sweatshirts. I am glad I have it.

Okay, my inexperience showing now. I thought all machine embroidery had to be done in a hoop, so what would be the "other kind"? I've had a combo machine for a year now, and I haven't tried to embroider at all, and that is what I really wanted to do. I can't get up the nerve to try .
