Binding. I hate fighting with the quilt, whether it's a machine binding or hand binding, I find it to be a pain in my tookas. I don't mine ironing the fabric (though I hate ironing any other time), I love selecting my fabrics, piecing is so fun (especially when I can get in a good rhythm or chain piecing), and I love seeing the top come together. Now that I'm getting comfortable with my mid-arm & am trying out pantos, I'm having a ton of fun with the quilting, too!

I too like the piecing part the best. Iam not crazy about the quilting and my stack of unfinished quilts show it! I would love to have a long arm but unless I win the lottery I don't think it will happen. For now it is FMQ on my machine.

I love every part of the process except the layering/basting part. Once I got my machine quilting frame I thought it would be easier...it is, but it's still a lot of preparation before getting to the quilting. The measuring, the pinning, the rolling...still not so much fun! I really like to bind (weird, I know!), hand sewing and all!

I don't like the sandwiching and I really don't like the binding and label. However....that last stitch on the label is my very favorite part...because it means it's done and I can take a photo of it!!!

I love piecing my quilt and see how it transforms slowly to a masterpiece. My most dreaded task is basting! As I do not have a large table or workstation, I always had to kneel and bast on the living room floor, which would give me backaches for days!

A warm welcome back from Colorado!

I hate sandwiching the quilt. I bought a basting gun and hope that it will help.

I hated putting the quilt sandwich together. Basting spray helped a lot. I got a frame a few months ago and now it's so much easier. I can say I love all of it.

Line drying completed quilts! It's amazing how quickly the sun will fade fabrics around here. There's only two times of day when I can dry in the shade so I have to plan my days around that. Annoying. On the few days when there is no breeze, double annoying.
