I have lots of experience, I stored shoes in the trunk of my car when I was 17. Don't bother much anymore. Since all my cutting and sewing is done at the local Extension Office , most of my fabric is kept in my van. Of course, none of this stops my mother from commenting on how much fabric I have. But I have gotten quite good at not listening over the years. She knows how I feel about buying fabric and never pushes the issue.

Since DH is retired, we have a certain amt of spending $$.He doesn't care if I spend it on fabric or whatever. We pretty much just buy what we need.Since he seldom needs anything, it leaves more for what I need :)

No need to hide it. I never buy if I don't have the cash plus Glenn isn't particularly observant.

When my hubby was alive, I sneak fabrics in the back door.Throw the bag in my sewing room, then later stack fabrics on my shelves, while he took his ole man nap, lol. Now, I do as I please, my son knows not to open his mouth!

I don't hide mine from him. I think his biggest issue is that when he says "go pick me up a few burgers from mcdonald's will ya?" McDonald's is inside Wal-Mart.. so.. a 15 minute trip usually turns into...about a 2 hr visit at WalMart...

I never hide it. I usually ask if there are funds available. If not I wait. If I'm out and there's a great sale I call and and ask. I am a stay at home mom and we only have one income so this is how it is.

I'm too old to hide what I buy. I work and pay my own bills. :)

I often need to buy something during a project & of course while trying to find that item, the fabric calls out to me. I often will buy a small amount with cash I have on me so he won't see it on the card & put it amongst the needs I went for. Then when he goes out to his workshop, I hide it amongst my other fabrics so it looks like it's been there for a while. He does sometimes tell me to buy though, so I feel pretty lucky.

Most of my fabric comes from estate sales, and DH comes with me. The rest is from Kmart and Joann and he comes along there, too. Never hide it.
