the only problem with buying white fabric is which one you do like...with or without patterns...with or without verigated lines...with or without nubbies...or just plain domestic...start looking..it's harder than you think

Oh my goodness... good for you. That must make quilting really fun! I can't imagine. Even though I don't have that sort of a budget, I do have fun. I also have some of the greatest friends this life can offer... large budget or small, quilting adds a lot of enjoyment to life.

Yes you read right!
and that is just what I keep to sew with!
It is so much fun to feel all the fabric
Well actually I do sell to members of the yahoo group that I belong to,(at my wholesale price) as a fabric co-op.
I buy kona cotton solids weekly, and the june fabric orders
are for Benartex Minkee and Indobatiks.
I had never tried minkee before and LOVE it!
If you would like more info please PM me
thanks

I'm especially fond of scrappy-type quilts so I usually purchase fat quarters. This way I get great look with lots of variety. I also get a great deal of pleasure just looking at all the different fabrics, colors and textures piled up on my shelves awaiting projects. I purchase yards of fabric for the borders and backs after I piece the tops & haven't had a problem coming up with something that matches well. I buy yardage for specific projects and when I find a good deal on fabric that could be used for backgrounds, borders and or backings. I just love it all!

Since I make mostly scrap quilts and applique I buy in smaller quantities, 1/4 yard or 1/2 yard. If I don't applique the border then I may buy specifically for that. I don't usually buy fat quarters, charms, etc., because it is usually less expensive to buy by the yard.
