I seldom go to quilt shops when I travel. I am able to find everything I need at my local quilt shop.

I am visiting quilt shops this weekend in Rapid City, SD. I find that most lqs carry much of the same fabrics but they catch my eye differently as they are almost always displayed differently or one lqs carries more of the matching fabrics. I love the mom and pop shop quilt kits. Pearl Louise is one of my favorite fabric designers and I love her Thimble Cottage in Rapid. I come up here 3-4 times a year to visit my son and his family. I have to hit at least one lqs in every place that I spend more than one day.

I certainly do, wherever I go, US. France, Holland, etc. Meet some interesting people that way too. Came upon a shop in Amsterdam and just had to stop for a look see. While there I met a quilter from England who asked me if I ever went to Lancaster PA for the Spring show. Of course I do, been going for the past 8 years. She and her friends attend and each brings an empty suitcase to fill with fabrics for the trip home. Fabric shops in the Lancaster area have latest top name fabrics at very low prices, I stock up whenever I'm there. This year lowest per yd for me was 2.99 and highest was 6.49. May in Jersey

Where are you going in Texas? We just left Rockport and Houston area. Great little shop in Rockport. Also one in Old Town Spring. Great shops.

I have been to Lancaster several times, but it just dawned on me when I was there last weekend that the prices are $1-3 dollars cheaper for the same material than here at home. Wish I had realized that spooner

Always, no matter where we go, I plan on visiting quilt shops. My husband sings in a barbershop quartet and whenever, wherever the convention is, I shop. Once when we went to Louisville, KY I made him stop in Paducah so I could 'do' Hancocks. This summer we're going to Philly, so I plan to shop in Lancaster and we're also making a side trip to NY so I want to go to Mood Fabrics where they shop for Project Runway. Why not?

I love the adventures, the different personalties. Hubby is sooo good. He reads his Kindle while I am shopping and looking.

I try to hit at least one. This year we're going to visit my SIL near Crawford, Georgia. Anyone know some must see shops that I need to hit? My SIL is learning to quilt so I'll finally have someone to go with.

I try to find at least one along the way. There are so many quilt shops around, it's usually not too hard. It's fun to see what people are doing in different parts of the country, don't ou think?
