I like using yellow in a quilt. I am making a graduation quilt for my grandson and yellow is one of his favorite colors.

Oh come on now, people. Let's see some pix of these quilts you're describing with yellow in them! A picture is worth at least 1000 words-- especially a picture of a quilt!

My daughter and I love yellow, also. In fact, I am in the process of making her a blue and yellow quilt. I have a blue and yellow quilt on my bed at this moment. Blue and yellow cannot be beat!

When I first started quilting(many years ago) I did not use yellow. Then I read an article in a magazine from a famous designer and she said there should be a little yellow in every room to accent it. I started using it in my quilts and love it. Also I just recently made two quilts with orange in them and it really popped. My grandson loves them. He got one

I LOVE YELLOW - like red, it can add zip to the quilt. Yellow, in variouos shades, goes with many many other colors very well.

I use it to the extreme in my baby giveaway quilt - cheerful!

    GOOD question!

I am working on a quilt now that has yellow in it. I haven't used it much but it is such a happy color. It's a color that makes you smile as you quilt.

I've noticed that yellow has become increasingly popular in the last year or two. I imagine Kaffe Fassett's prints with his bright color palettes has influenced the current trend. Also, I find that the clearer yellows ( no green or grayish tones) surive the test of time better.

I was raised that yellow is bad luck... they used the term it's forsaken. I have very very few pieces of yellow anything in my wardrobe, house or quilts. If I buy anything with yellow I rename it "maze" or something like that. I know stupid, but after 65 years I don't think I'll chance it now. Although I love the color I just don't buy anything yellow.
