We just did a family reunion fund quilt raffle. I thought we should charge $2.00 per ticket but my daughters insisted that we charge only .50 per ticket which would enable the smaller children to earn their own money and participate. We raised $330.00. (Also had an auction where we raised another $1100.00. The cheaper the ticket, the more they wanted to purchase and the more people could participate. Good luck.

In our rural area, where the people like quilts but don't know how much is invested in a quilt, would never spend $5. for an individual ticket but would purchase 6/$5, no matter the reason for the fundraiser. We usually make around $2500. selling them 6/$5. and I purchase LQS fabric and have professional machine quilting done. I just invested $312.00 (without labor) in a king size quilt this past weekend for a raffle.

Our raffle quilt tickets are $2 or $3 for 5. It is hard to sell them at that price.

In my area there are a lot of raffle I usually try to buy one ticket for each cause and yes, $5/ticket would be a little pricey for me. The main thing is get out there and sell the tickets.

We raffle a quilt off every year in my guild. We sell the tickts for $1 each. We sell 3000 tickets. I found that people are more apt to buy 10 $1 tickets than 2 $5 tickets. Also they want to know how many tickets are being sold. I think its kind of a trick on the mind. $5 seems like a lot for one ticket when they can get 5 for the same amount of money. Am I making any sence? Anyway, our population is abour 2800 people and we sell all the tickets every year. Hope that helps, and makes sence!!! LOL

The guilds I have seen as well as a fund raiser by another group was charging $1/ticket or $5 for 6 tickets for a raffle quilt.

Even a restored car was being raffled for $1/ticket and 6/$5 at a festival I went to.

I would definitely pay $5 for a quilt raffle. Quilts are expensive to make and I feel this justifies the $5 price tag. I recently had a quilt raffle for a twin size quilt and my tickets were $5 or 3 for $10. I only had one month to raise money and I made $465. I had family help sell tickets at their jobs and I ask my quilt guild if they would buy any. Also, I posted flyers at my church, library, and quilt shops I frequented. Posting on Facebook and blogs such as this one may help as well. Good luck, and please post a picture of the quilt.
