The embellishments even small beads get caught on the sewing machine feet and break needles, that is why a small package pinned to the blocks would be the best arrangement on those.

Winter is winter. The holidays just happen to fall into the season. Winter is snow, fun, and Christmas and all other fun days involved. I was thinking of snowmen playing in the snow and fall wintery scenes with embroidery and then put around frosty colored fabric. I think we should do all things of the "winter" season. I am happy with whatever I get. I like the swaps and love the blocks I have received. We all do fine work and that is what matters. It is like geting the grab bags at Buggy Barn, you get a general idea of what is inside and then you get the surprise to find what came with the bag.

I think winter includes whatever comes with winter. I also think embellishments should be left off and put into a small baggie so the person who receives the blocks can decide what to embellish or not.

You can sign me up for 4 sets. I will have penty of time to get these done. Not in any other swaps after August. I will be doing embroidery scene (toile) in blue on white with blue frosty fabric border; star pieced block, and not sure what else yet, have to think on it a bit more. I love these type of quilts. I did Christmas theme swaps and then put them into quilts that come out only at Christmas. The kids just love them. I need two more so each child will have one when I am gone or ready to give them up to them when they move out. One is gone already, may get this one for Christmas present. She would love that. There, that is settled then. She is in Colorado which gets a bit cold anyway.

Please pm me when you are ready to sign up everyone! Thanks so much.

Chiggerholler... Are you going to join the fun??

I started my blocks today. They are appliqued flying angels ( from debbie Mumm book) and snowmen as a close up (from a Art to Heart booklet) . Pretty cute. I will share when I get the stitching finished on them, OK?

I really want to be involved with this one! Just have to be sure I can meet my commitment before I officially sign up! :)
So I will send you a pm when I get my head above water! It sure is fun dreamin' about winter while it's pushing triple digits here! I'm watching ....can't wait to see the blocks as they are posted! Blocks can also be square as long as they're multiples of 3 (finished sizes) right?
All of the examples you listed are rectangles! Have a good weekend!
