Great trip, Peg! Unfortunately your attachments don't work, (the close ups). I thought that was a really smart way to display the quilts, over the backs of all the pews! Thanks for sharing your photos. Your kids are cute.

I finished piecing all of my hexagons and have them laid out on the table. I wish there was a simple way to put a thin black sashing around each hex, but I'm afraid I'd end up pulling my hair out... so will just go with it, as is. I will be seperating a few blocks into halves, to fill in some of the voids on the top and bottom edges, and then put solid triangle fillers in the voids on either long side. That should work.

Hey there quilters! So glad to get home from the trip to Ohio. Stopped in Altamont, IL at Quilt Top Shop & loaded up on Jenny Beyer bolt cuts, nice variety. Did their Row By Row, although I didn't pick up any patterns, I learned a lot.

In Dublin, OH I found a very nice shop, Red Rooster, which had awesome Civil War reproductions at good prices, bought enough for 2 quilts! Picked up 6.5" Row By Row ruler. Wanted the $20 Row by Row bag, but chose more fabric instead! Purchased Lily of the Field fabric for spring 2016 wedding gift.

Hotel work:
1. Created pantograph for Mary's Steeler Nation quilt, similar to cathedral windows, like Steelers logo. Must finish by mid August as she is moving to the Seattle area for work. Last chick to leave the roost! Maybe I'll have time to finish some of my UFOs then. Thinking of redoing her room, shhhh, don't tell her!

2. Cut templates for 12 Farmer's Wife blocks, only 33 to go!

Enjoyed reading the last 5 pages of this thread, especially all the pics, lovely projects you all have, thanks for sharing. Looking forward to August birthday list, it promises to be interesting. Hope to participate in the contests, sure want to win more!

hugs,
dj

Hmm...why didn't my attachments work. Ugh. Well, let me try a couple of them again.

Oh my gosh, that last red and white one is to die for! What gorgeous hand embroidery on these. Machine embroidery will never have the charm of hand embroidery.

Peg, the one marked #9... do you know what they call that design? I've been wanting to use my 30's feedsack fabrics to make one of those, with white muslin. I can make it without any pattern, just wondering what it's traditionally called.

Ditto, ditto, ditto. I really like this pattern. I just showed it to my daughter and we are both ooohing and ahhhhhing. I'll be watching to find the source. I think I can figure it out but.....

I literally got this pattern last week in an e-mail and now I can't find the site for all of you. There is a free pattern on the web. Just a snowball square and then watch the placement for where you want the right hand side to radiate out. I'll keep looking
