2022 - 2.5" Birthday Swap
#297

Woo hoo! Two more birthday packages in the mail today. I received from Ibex and CrispyFrog. Thank you ladies! Will save for my birthday.
And here is some surprise EYE CANDY! I think most of you know I have been working on finishing some quilts Givio was making for her family before she passed away. I just finished one that she made from candy, and it's a beauty. 87" square, which is about the max I can quilt. She arranged the squares in such a gorgeous way. I'd call it an Impressionistic Irish Chain. She used 1296 candy squares, all unique! No repeats at all in this center. She added a border on it which does have some repeats, but none in the center. She collected these from swaps, including the year she was in this one, and from scraps. She used pieces she cut from the Color Charms swaps that Red Stilettos did. So many cool fabrics... it was a pleasure to work on. She left me a note with it that she wanted it shown to YOU, the birthday group, when it was done. So here it is:

That is certainly eye candy sewbizgirl! Givio did such a good job, and you are so kind to quilt it for her family.
Attached is a picture of a quilt top that I pieced from the charm pack that I won in the Groundhog Day contest. I'm making it as a charity baby quilt. Didn't it turn out cute? Thank you WMUTeach!

I love Givio's quilt! So much eye candy! And your quilting is perfect for the pattern, SBG. Thank you for sharing with us!
Lovely baby quilt, Jenn! I have a layer cake from that fabric line that has been saved for "something special", lol! One day it will be used!
