In adding my thoughts to this discussion, I found it difficult to find 15 "neutral" non-holiday-related green fabrics for this swap so I added a couple of extra squares. When I received my package, I loved all the greens and found I needed not worry so much because there was such a variety that if I choose to lay aside one or more squares because it doesn't fit my design, I still have more than enough greens. I hope I didn't include some other fabric that someone else might consider holiday-related when I included "clover" fabric or holly leaves etc. But then one of my favorite squares is of a farm scene .... I look forward to showcasing that square in a future project and maybe find some more of that fabric.
This being said, I really look forward to the "red" swap. You are all amazing at finding so many different fabrics!
..... just my thoughts .....

There used to be various holidays swaps, can't remember who hosted the Christmas themed swap. I did join a red, white & blue swap a few years ago to make a patriotic quilt & took the charms to Quilts of Valor for a donation.
Been holding on to my set-aside box of holiday fabrics just in case someone decided to host a themed swap again. Not sure what I'll do with St Paddy, Easter, Graduation, School Days, Juvenile, Christmas, New Year's, Birthday & Food fabrics in the box which would certainly make for a very busy quilt! Going to spend some time erasing that thought!
hugs,
dj

Jaba, I personally don't celebrate any holidays and won't use holiday fabric. I feel like it would be somewhat of a waste if I swap 150 charms of fabric that I do like, for a bunch that I won't use. I would not try to change the "rules," but I would choose not to participate if I knew I would receive a bunch of fabrics that I just wouldn't use. I usually get a couple that aren't my taste in each swap (non-holiday), but that's different. I will use those in a charity quilt and move on. BUT, obvious holiday fabrics would probably go to trash or Goodwill.

Got my green charms enjoyed going through them put them in Light, Med, and dark group Thank you all for my charms .
Sent out Feedback too.
Ready to get my Red Charm cut, will try to keep Christmas out of them. Some of my Christmas one can go none look Christmas when cut . Would those be OK ? or just NO Holiday at all. I'm ok either way
